Hi:) I will second Bill's recommendation of giving the Throwingmuses.com message board a visit if you're a fan. Im a lurker over there, but it's the neatest message board, and billy (kristin's hubby) does post all the time answering everyone's questions! it's too cool. it's an awesome community. i love it. jase said: >The only difference between the two has to do with the album's artwork >and lyric sheet, where the explicit words have been censored. As for the >music itself, there are no differences and no words were bleeped out. oh! i didn't know that. cool. now, i wonder if there are two versions of sinead o'connors "faith and courage" (a GREAT album btw!!!!!!). because i was looking in the liner notes, and it said "and get real hot underneath them lights, like i wanna **** every man in sight". i was like UM why is it bleeped out here and not on the song? that's really weird. i want an explicit version!:( hahahah:) i will also second jase's sleater-kinney recommendation. they are the greatest--go see them, buy their records (call the doctor is the best!) go go go! as for elastica--their first album is amazing!!! stutter is the funniest song in the world. hehe. I have their EP, and i really don't like it. maybe i just haven't gotten into it...but i'm not too keen on it thus far. I havent heard much from The Menace--actually, they only thing i have heard was the "dadada" cover in trent's car on the way to the sleater-kinney show last month. it was sooo cute. The menace will be released on August 8th in the states!!! woooooo! i want it now...maybe i can get a certain canadian boy on this list to pick me up a copy and get it to me when we see the b52s/gogos?? teeheeheee:):):) ahhh i guess i can wait. And bill, the go-gos rule, don't be embarrassed. as do the b52s. they both rock and i still cant get over the fact that they are touring together. dream come true. is anyone else going to the Pine Knob show??? dan and i are both going (and i'll force trent to come--you know you had a good time at the last b52s show! i saw you 'shaking your honeybuns' during cosmic (ballsack) thing). anyways, maybe we can all have a liz corner on the lawn:):) it is gonna be the show of the summer! haha b52s rule. ok im really tired, excuse my LAMEness. steve the rambler. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2000 05:54:44 -0700 (PDT) From: Craig King Subject: LizPhest memories Following what Jorge posted yesterday, here are my favorite memories from this past weekend at the LizPhest: - - Getting to meet and hang out with so many cool people who are actually Liz Phans. You guys rock! - - Hanging out at 2 ultra cool bars (I won't mention the third one) on Saturday night until 5AM. The first being a really cool bar with live jazz music called the Underground Underbar. I think Jorge was in love with the singer. Don't ask me, ask him. The second being a really cool bar that actually had Liz (Exile none-the-less) in the jukebox! I think we were the only ones in the place that knew who Liz was. That didn't stop us from singing along though! - - Being introduced to Yo La Tengo at the concert on Sunday night. Thanks Jenni!! I knew nothing about the band before that night, but by the end of the concert I was extremely impressed! It was a really great show. - - Jorge informing us how since he lives in Texas he loves to put on his cowboy boots, put on his big beltbuckle that's in the shape of Texas, throw on his big ass cowboy hat, and go down to the local bar for a drunken night of linedancing and country karaoke. He also told us how he loves to clap on command, flash everyone the goat sign, and his personal favorite is throwing his hands in the air and waiving them like he just doesn't care. Hey, I didn't ask any questions. - - Wrigley Field on Sunday afternoon. My first time in this magical ballpark. We even got to see a Sammy Sosa home run to boot! - - Going to see the house Liz grew up in where her parents still live. Talk about a rich neighborhood! Also, seeing where Liz went to high school. I thought my high school was big. Hers was twice as big! All in all the weekend was a blast! Thanks to everyone who was there. You all helped to make it a great weekend. Big thanks to Allison for helping me organize the entire thing. I can't wait for next year! Craig NP: Deftones - White Pony __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Portishead doesn't really stike me as rediscovered either, but mainly b/c I get to listen to them a lot still... Yeah, in responce to the post below, I liked 4 non blondes and melissa etheridge too... Although it's strange... I never really listened to the 4 non blondes album, although I really liked the single I bought... And I have to say I have always liked melissa etheridges stuff, and I only have 1 older album of hers... She's on tour now... It is really odd how you get out of listening to certain cd's and then remember how good they are... I haven't done that in a while... I listened to rem's monster a while ago *again* and I forgot how much I liked it... ! Kelly I have lots and lots of CDs and have rediscovered some ones lately. Does anyone remember Elastica? What about 4 Non Blondes? Portishead? There are some quality groups I have a CD of, but really don't think about. Does anyone else have CDs like that and then you rediscover how good they are? Also, any fans of Melissa Etheridge? Jen __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send instant messages with Yahoo!
