Didn't poor Fabio get hit in the face by a bird while on a roller coaster, temporarily ruining his "famous" good looks? I personally find that very funny. At least Gerard Depardieu is famous for acting... Fabio is famous for what... butter and appearing in Jill Sobule's "I Kissed A Girl" video? Jill said it best... He's got The Hits 1 and 2, then he's got the B-sides one. I forget exactly what it's called (could be b-sides), but it's got 17 Days on it. I made this same discovery last year. I used to listen to 17 Days back in 1984 when it was a b-side on a jukebox ... what a great song. "Let the rain come down, the rain come down, let the rain come down down ..." and Jason Tedford, that site is kozmo.com. You probably have to be in a major city to get it. To make extra sure this post is COMPLETELY off-topic ... I'm considering driving from Boston to NYC on Monday the 8th (I think that's the date, but Monday is definitely right) to see Rhett Miller, the singer for the Old 97s, at a solo acoustic show. It's at a place called Fez, I think? (I hope I'm not just confusing the name with that guy on That 70s Show.) Anyway, any NYC'ers know anything about this Fez venue? where it is, can I park anywhere, etc? thanks much sandra NP: Smashing Pumpkins, Siamese Dream (they should have just stopped with this album) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Here's my list: 1. La Isla Bonita, This Used to Be My Playground, Crazy For You - Madonna 2. Johnny Feelgood - Liz 3. Dreams - Cranberries Not many others cause I can't sing, but I always find myself singing to Madonna. Bye! Jen "Remember the squirrels I saved as a kid? He does have a nice body, but yes, his face looks like he got beat with an ugly stick. I always thought, though, that if the Lion King were ever made into a real movie, he'd make a good Mufasa. He really does look like a lion. And for some strange reason, he's also known to hang out with Dr. Ruth a lot, but I don't EVEN want to "go there." Okay, back to Lurk Ness for me. Yesterday morning a friend of mine sighted a Liz poster in my living room and was awed, he said she was quite attractive, in so many words. I asked what he thought of her music, and he was less than enthusiastic, but said she was his type. I wonderhow much looks affect out judgements and opinions of the musucians we enjoy? Certainly Lyle Lovett and others have proved that average looks are no hinderance to success. Still, popular music (ie top-40) is populated by busty bombshells like Faith Hill and Christine Aguilera, and hunks like (well you get the picture). Certainly, we strive to look beyond mere looks when we look at the world around us. Image and appearance will always play a roll in how we are perceived. So I ask this question: if Liz looked like Jabba the Hut, how different would her success (not just commercial) be and how differently would she be viewed as a musician?
