When Cat Power toured here a few months ago, I read a review and it said that she stopped after a little bit, left the stage and someone in the crowd went and got her out again. Then after a little bit she left for real saying something like "Sorry I'm so shit". She had Joan of Arc playing at this gig. I'd like to see Hole cover Fuck and Run. That would be cool. She did an hour showcase for Warners and press people at the ICA on the Mall. She was in top form and spent most of the gig plugging her new, self released album due out later in the year. She played a few oldies and a few from Magnolia. It was a full band line-up, but i didn't catch the names of any of the others. Top night, although still not as good as Lauren Hoffman's show last week. Nice to see the Bangles back. I saw their UK debut back in '85 and would welcome a return to "all over the place" girls with guitars. "and i wonder how i've come to know so much less than i knew before" ... Joseph Lee Henry. "i know the promise is so much better than the real thing" ... In fact, in the latest issue of People Weekly, > "High Fidelity" is reviewed and they mention that Catherine Zeta Jones > is in the movie in an uncredited cameo. But CZJ IS listed in the Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com) screen credits. Our Miz Phair isn't. And the Bangles have reunited? Oh my, can this be a good thing? I too am a big fan of _All Over The Place_, but pretty much loathe the direction they took (or were forced to take) with "Eternal Flame" and the other cuts prominently displaying Hoffs. I thought the band was much stronger when they didn't rely on her so much. Mikey C Va Beach __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! I like their other albums, but their first one was special. Liz should cover James from that album. Has anyone figured out all the background talking in "Bars of the Bed"? I can tell what's going on, but sometimes the words are hard to make out." Hey, April. Meredith Robbins' most excellent site 'Exile in Netville' (exileinnetville.com) used to have the entire lyrics set to the wcse sessions set, but after a cursory search of her site, the lyrics don't show up. She _does_ have the biggest part of the lyrics, painstakingly transcribed from a long time of playing the song over and over. If she's still out there in digest-land, you can probably get the lyric set from her. Michael Worrell "It's just a three minute song; it doesn't last very long.
