That's good to hear, really. It almost underscores what I'm saying ... and let me try to word this properly. Addicts are secretive, but not amongst each other. Whether clean, recovering, or using, there is typically a means to find others to, for lack of a better word, 'share' the experience with. People to talk to. We bystanders (enablers? codependents? victims?) are not so fortunate. We're full of shame and embarrassment (not that addicts aren't either, but again, addicts can usually find other addicts.) For the most part, we suffer in shameful silence. I've done so much silent suffering that it was easy for me to attack what felt to me like an ominous, dark post in an anonymous forum. And you're right ... I never did, nor would I ever be able to, fully understand his experience. Thank f**king God. and here it ends, sandra __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! So I was skiing in Utah last week, for four days, and the people I was traveling with either listened to the new Santana cd (not that it's bad, but come on now) or watched freaking basketball the whole time, calling their bookies on the hour. So I walk into the Badass Coffee Shop (that's really the name) on my second-to-last-day there, in Park City, and as I get my cup of java, I hear a familar song: Perfect World. Eventually I realize they're playing the whole album. So I go up to the cashier and say, quite seriously: "Thank you for playing the first good music I've heard since I've been here." = ) And oh yeah ... I'm going to London next week. First time ever. It's sort of last minute, so I have no time to plan, and I'll be there for only six days ...if anyone has any must-sees to suggest, I'm all eyes. sandra __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
