It hasn't really bothered me until recently. For some reason, it's 4:50 am Sunday and I'm awake. My alarm didn't go off. I'm just awake. The reason I'm awake is because some folks kept mentioning Love/Hate Transmission a while back. Some Loved it. Some Hated it. I'm searching like a madman for an MP3 of the song. Please, please help a crazed man out of his misery. If you have an MP3 of it, feel free to email me. If you know where to find it, well, we're all intelligent people here. I mean we all have excellent musical taste. Well, most of us do anyway. You know what to do. Thank you all in advance for your help. All that aside, I hope everyone is doing well. I've been quite the lurker on the list this year. I guess I haven't had much to say until now. I've been pretty bummed because I moved to NC about 4 years ago (right after the Whipsmart tour) and Liz just doesn't come around here. Not even for Lilith Phair (heheheh.... you liked how I snuck that one in, didn't you). I have to drive nearly 6 hours to get to the closest show in DC. Well, I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. I know that everyone on the list will soon begin to believe that I'm the next Unabomber or something crazed like that. I'm not. Once again, thank you all for your help. So here goes - maybe one of you knows the answer. Has Liz ever seen/talked to/met her blood parents? Has she ever talked about the circumstances of why she was given up for adoption? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 06 Feb 2000 20:55:46 -0500 From: Jason Long Subject: Bounced message From: "scott smith" Subject: tablature? Well, you all know I like Liz Phair. (Although I don't talk about her much here, it always seems to be more fun to just be a smart-ass.) But what you may not know--in fact, you almost certainly don't--is that I am similarly fanatic about the sport of ultimate. (For those not familiar with the sport, it was originally called "ultimate frisbee," it involves [clearly] a flying disc, it was invented by Hollywood producer Joel Silver and his buddies in high school, and it is insanely fun.) So I was pleasantly surprised, when reading the newsgroup rec.sport.disc, to find a Liz Phair reference. What follows is the reply I wrote: > Jesiewert wrote: > >> Is that like Liz Phair singing... >> >> "I feel winning, spinning >> I feel energy coming off all sides >> And it feels good >> Like relieving a headache", or something like that. >> >> Got to be talking about disc, and she is a Chicago gal. > > 1. I have her to thank for an introduction to Liz, as well as most of what I tended to listen to in my high school and early college days. My tastes have broadened, and in some cases, diverged, from that starting point, but I can still see, looking at my CD collection right now, quite a few discs that I own more or less because of her influence.
