And has anyone noticed or heard their new single? IS it me or is Filter selling out by promoting it so much and appearing on TRL? I was just talking about this tonight as a matter or fact. I did think that Filter had a really hard-ass CD out a couple of years ago, but that new song "Take your picture" i think it like a really wussy song. but is there whole CD like that, or is that just a "radio friendly" single? another thing...i saw liz on VH1 tonight, im not sure if it was before they were stars or what...but i stopped mid-sentence when i saw her, and my boyfrind had to explain that it was liz on Tv and that ill be fine Christine ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Jan 2000 06:50:45 PST From: "DarkSide oftheMoon" Subject: de-lurking for a min hey listers, don't blink or you will miss me... with all the talk of csn&y, let me recommend david crosby's autobiography 'yes, i can'. one of the best books i have ever read. off to make pancakes, DarkSide oftheMoon ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Jan 2000 12:18:51 EST From: Nelsewhere@aol.com Subject: Omg!!!!!!!!! If he had a TV show, it might be called "Married... With Steve Kisko." Or "Grace Under Steve Kisko." Or "You Can't Do That on Steve Kisko." Anyways, I just wanted to mention him on the list, because I know he loves that. Steve Steve Steve Steve Steve. It's all about Steeeeeeeeeve Kiiiiiiiiisko. Yeah. Oh, shit, now I have to think of something Liz-related to say to make up for all that shameful in-joking. Huh. Oh, yeah, I think Nicole's FAQ idea is a really good one. What questions do we get asked frequently? "Where can I get Girlysounds?" is right up there. "For the love of God, how do I unsubscribe from this stupid fucking list?" certainly. Not to mention "Who's this Steve Kisko I hear so much about?" Maybe something about album plans, although the FAQ would have to be updated fairly frequently (by FAQ standards) to keep the info current. Although I'm not sure we get asked about it "frequently," some biographical info might be good. Have you looked at Aaron Walker's FAQ over at Stratford-on-Guy? I'm sure it will be as inspiring to you as it has been to me (have I mentioned that Aaron Walker is a god? because he is, you know). Stay tuned for my next post, in which I will tell you all about Steve Kisko's opinion of Material Issue. From: Peter Washington Subject: Re: support-system-digest V3 #7: "...I guess one could claim that they wrote half of the music, but really, what about the song do you remember, the "Tubular Bells" part or the "Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls" part? I can't remember who composed the tune, but it's the theme music from The Exorcist. " Peter--Yes, I agree, great song also. And, I believe I read somewhere that the author of "The Exorcist", William Blatty (I think), was unhappy with the score someone else had written for the movie. So, over the course of one night, he sat down with a musician (Mike Oldfield maybe?) and together they came up with "Tubular Bells", because he knew the sound he wanted...just wasn't exactly sure how to describe it musically well enough for anyone to write/perform it. *shrug* I'm not sure of the truth behind this story, but I've heard it more than once from different sources. Hmm...I'm off to find out more... I just love the internet. *maniacal giggle* ~gunshy~ Shelly NP: "Box of Rain"~~The Grateful Dead ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Jan 2000 15:54:07 -0800 From: "fisher" Subject: juliana >What has Juliana been up to? She has three albums coming out this year (one solo, one with her band Juliana's Pony, and one with the Blake Babies) and is still actively rejecting label contracts and is packing clubs with hardcore devoted fans. Those are the ones, I guess, who never found her lyrics silly at all. Not trying to be snotty in any way (you can never tell from emails what tone it was written in) but Juliana is still busy busy and rocking out. laura ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Jan 2000 18:29:28 EST From: Headache79@aol.com Subject: juvinilia Hey All, I've noticed a lot of Juvinilia questions lately. For any one looking for it, Columbia House offers it still. The stock number is 237933. Don't know if everyone trying to track it down is a member or not, but they do still offer it now that it's harder in some places to track it down. Don't have the price guide in front of me, but it's less than 10 bucks and could be gotten even cheaper if chosen as a bonus buy. Not that I'm trying to sound like a CH commercial or anything.
