She is from Dundalk, MD and is on fowl records. She rocks. she's no liz and in fact is not even comparable to liz but her music is fun and can put a smile on anyone's face. anyway, you can check a bit of her out at www.fowl.com under "audio". thanks for listening!!! ~lynda *ps* my birthday is on MONDAY! guess where i get to spend it?? inside the downtrodden pentagon! ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 08 Jan 2000 15:03:49 -0500 From: Jason Long Subject: Re: support-system-digest V3 #1 Nick Nelson wrote: > Jeff wrote: >> So, give me some ideas guys and gals. I definitely second this recommendation; the Spinanes are, by far, one of my favorite bands and Rebecca Gates one of my favorite vocalists. I know quite a few people who prefer the first two albums over the most recent one, but _Arches and Aisles_ is easily my favorite of the three, and would probably be the best place to start. The songs, to me, are much more accessible and the arrangements are more fleshed-out. I can't think off-hand of who I would compare them to, so instead, here are a couple of links to reviews of _Arches and Aisles_ that may give a bit of an idea: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/s/spinanes/arches-and-aisles.shtml http://www.furia.com/twas/twas0182.html#entry2 Hope this helps. By the way, ignore the review left by "Music Critic" on the page. He doesn't know what he's talking about. Also, the first song, "Kid in Candy," isn't all that inspiring and not the best opener, but the rest of the album is much better. Great album. Any Liz phans who love the low-fi stylings on EXILE might enjoy this one, also. Second, I got in my E-Mail from another list I-m on this riddle which I'd like to present to all you Support Systemers. Here goes: Einstein's Riddle There are 5 houses in 5 different colors. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage. The question is "Who owns the fish?" Hints: The Brit lives in the red house. The Swede keeps dogs as pets. The Dane drinks tea. The green house is on the left of the white house. The owner of the green house drinks coffee. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill. The man living in the center house drinks milk. The Norwegian lives in the first house. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats. The man who keeps the horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill. The owner who smokes Bluemasters drinks beer. The German smokes Prince. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water. **Einstein wrote this. He said 98% of the world could not solve it. Good Luck.
