She said that "car", "America" and "sunshine" were sung a lot in it, I don't know what song she's talking about, so can someone fill me in? Both songs describe a guy she clearly feels great affection for but with whom somehow things didn't quite work out, apparently from Liz's decision, one that "One Less Thing" might describe the regret over. - ------------from robert Joyner's reposting of Liz's apparent post Here's a section from My Mistake: I saw John, he looked so sad I want you to know that I feel bad for not making our dreams come true. we had so many dreams, me and you. I want you to know I love you. You're my favorite thing from the past, and all of those nights we spent together, I never had such a blast.... Anyone could tell you were my instrument, he said, I understand you. You want to play me. my mistake was thinking I'd already made it. I wanna make a leap of innocence to you. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Jan 2000 09:20:49 -0600 From: "Allison" Subject: Response to MrE >if you want to refer to me as an immature ass, then by all means do so... MrE@mr-e.net I was not necessarily referring to you, but if the shoe fits..... I think it's interesting that people chose to respond to the one negative thing that I posted about, which was in the PAST specifically referring to the name calling surrounding the Alanis Morrisette thing.... By the way, I am so far from "prim and proper" that it would make your head spin. And self important? Did you even read the rest of my post or did the bells just start going off when you started identifying with "the sniping immaturity of days past" ?? My prediction is that you will respond to this post with more over-reactive blather, so this prim and proper self important Martha Stewart admiring Liz Phair lovin' bitch awaits.... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Jan 2000 10:26:17 -0500 From: Ken_Davis@putnaminv.com Subject: Rose Bowl - with Liz content... Did anyone else find themselves singing about the coach of the Wisconsin Badgers (Barry Alvarez) to the tune of Uncle Alvarez during the Rose Bowl? It made a boring game much more fun. P.S. C. King, please put in your $.02 on this. I appreciate musicians' opinions. Plus, you owe me one after I warned you about the infamous "sister post."<< Dammit! I'm never going to be able to live this down am I?! Haha. It's ok. I just laugh about it now. Anyways, as for my $.37, you may be correct on this assumption. I don't believe I have heard this particular show yet. Although I could be wrong. I have heard many live Hendrix shows and they are all amazing. One of my favorite Hendrix shows was when Jim Morrison was in the audience and came up on stage to sing with him. I think Morrison was drunk, but it was still cool to hear two of the greatest musicians of all, time on stage at one time. There was definately nobody quite like the guitar god known as Jimi Hendrix. Being a guitar player, there have been a few shows that I have been to that have been totally inspirational to me. One of course was seeing Liz's solo show at the Lounge Ax last year. Yeah, I know Buddy was with her, but Liz handled 99% of the guitar parts that night. Another was seeing Jimmy Page (my all-time guitar hero) 2 years ago with Robert Plant. That show just blew me away and was the best "guitar show" I've ever been to. The third one was seeing Stone Temple Pilots live in the summer of '94. STP guitarist Dean Deleo inspired me to first want to pick up a guitar after that show. I will never forget it. This just reminded me that I had a Liz dream last night!! (Which I never do - had one other one once.) Anyway, I asked her if she did that post and she said "no." And I said the support systemers are gonna be so upset... Ever wake up singing a Liz lyric? I did this morning. It was "you got to have fear in your heart." No problem there. paige- - --- Annie wrote: > > The Liz post was great. It's about these four bohemian starving artists who share an apartment in Paris in the 1840's, and especially about the poet guy, Rodolfo, and the seamstress who moves in with him and dies of TB. It is soooooooooo good.
