It occurred to me after I sent that that I had screwed up. Dumb me, eh? On an absolutely unrelated note, I found that listening to 'Supernova' while playing European Air War actually improves one's concentration. Of course, most of Whip-Smart does, but Shane and Nashville...well, they kinda ruin the mood. If the ball falls and the lights are out, does that mean that it's not the new year? Michael (Work, damnit! Work--this had better be the first post of the last digest of the 90s. Jase, where are you? I found out last week, that I could wait an amazing 6 months. I lost track of my WCSE last July -> I remembered listening to it on the beach at my parents cottage. This is considered downright aberrant behaviour when on a beach in Canada in July...according to governmental regulations the only band you can listen to is the Tragically Hip. Some time later I realized I couldn't find it. I looked through my CD changer (the 110 disc bohemoth that it is) and all my usual disc heaps to no avail. Since I could remember listening to it in the summer...and I had the other CDs and the Phairities tape I didn't really panic and buy another one. This because I can think of nothing more brutal than buying something to replace a lost thing..then promptly finding the lost thing days later. I just kept thinking it would turn up. Finally when I went to my parents house for Christmas, there it was!!!! Betwixt and between the Cher, Carpenters Christmas and Celine Dion was my Liz. You know...that WCSE is a pretty great album. It was a welcome shift from the sniping immaturity of days past. From Katie and Brian's declaration of love to the warm welcoming of a new member, to a discussion of opera, to Valerie's persuasive and insightful thoughts on why Liz should definitely read this list, I was very pleased to see the positive energy flowing. So, thanks Jason and everyone who contributes to this Support System, I am proud to be a member. Happy New Year. Isn't that great??? Also included were Nirvana's Nevermind, Pearl Jam's Ten, Beck's Odelay, REM's Automatic for the People, and others I didn't care about. Just thought I'd share. Here are a review of the other shows that are available here or there. 4-1-96 Benefit show. My copy is great quality visually. Camera man did a really good job as camera stays focused on liz the entire time. Good audio quality as well. only drawback is the length of it only about 30 min. 4-12-99 dekalb show. good video quality camera man does slip up sometimes and loses focus on liz every so often. good sound quality. video of liz doing firewalker and don't apologize. 4-25-95 nyc okay video quality. same for audio. camera does a good job. has some cool visuals. a guy aks liz to mary him while she is playing chopsticks and without breaking stride on the piano she lifts her hand to show off her engagement ring to Jim Staukaskasauskast (how the the hell do you spell his name? I'm glad liz kept her maiden name for recording purposes.) 4-26-95 wash dc camera work is really bad. audio is good but the video quality of it is kinda lacking. I think my copy is many generations down the line. Anyone out there got a high quality copy of this show? Boy, I hope I'm the first post of the new year/decade/century/millennium - if you believe in that kind of thing. How does that song go? I can feel it in my bones, I'm gonna spend my whole millennium alone... First Liz song heard in 2000: Never Said. I was watching a compilation video. Coolness. Bless us all - esp.
