From: Jennifer K Luu Hey kids...I just wanted to send a nice big, plump HAAAAAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! to Mr. James Nicholas (Nick). He's turning 3 whole freakin' years old today, and I thought that was DEFINITELY worth a post, seeing as how I don't post very often.....and I figured who better to wish him a Happiest Birthday to, than the people who would know what the hell I am talking about anyway. Plus, I loooooooooooooove kiddies and it makes me terribly happy that LIZ is a Mommy. And hey, perhaps Mama Phair will catch a glimpse of this post...ok, maybe not....But I still hope Nick has a rockin' birthday and has a big party w/ lots of pretty girls for him to work his groove on. :) ...And while we're on the subject of kids (or at least I am), for those o' yas who like kids, I have a nephew who just turned 3 in August....and the other day in the car, he said to me, "My birthday's name is August 6th." I almost cried. :) And hell, the thought that this kid is amongst the ranks that will make up the future of our country provides this girl w/ some DAMN GOOD REST at night. :) Anyhoo, I prolly won't post before they arrive, so Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy New Year, and may the force be w/ you all for Y2K.... ABSOLUTELY LOVIN' the fact that "it's a birth that..." changed LIZ's life on this very day 3 years ago, Jennifer ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Dec 1999 23:19:22 -0800 From: Momus Subject: ever the fountain of joy >Give it some thought. >If you're looking for a personnal insult, >I'm sure one can be arranged off-list. ...that mikey...such a nice boy... > eXistenZ. ...please get outta the car and step away from the eXistenZ...i repeat, ExISTENz is the most painful two hours since 'Until the end of the world'...and i do not mean that in a good way. and please bear in mind that this critique comes from a cronenberg fan that considers him to be a master of his art...angelina jolie could not have saved this film. >...unless you decide to do something >stupid and become one of those who >give men a bad name ...hey, can we pick on some other lower mammalian life form for once...nevermind. hey, can we pick on some lower reptilian life form for once...yano...we may be weakminded, lazy, inconsiderate, sloven ingrates, but we do have a bad side too...no, that's not it...uh, but we don't consider fondue to be synonymous with party...yeh, that's it. party...fondue...and never the twain shall become one. >For any AOL users... It has the mood of driving around at 4 in the morning in an emotional haze. I can picture everything to the point where I can feel the headache of being up all night and watching the sun rise so slow. Now they're showing all that stuff and old stuff from the early 90s like old Boyz II Men, etc. There isn't even any selections for music that's non-rap and R&B. Anyway, my point is, that on the little scroll on the bottom they actually mentioned Liz Phair and the Exile in Guyville album amidst all the rap and R&B. I was shocked they, of all places, would mention Liz anywhere! Just thought I'd share. Jen "Your birthday is on Christmas? But then again....I did say I was trying to get a rise out of someone! Success! Would anyone else on this list like to question my Lizdom or presence? :) (after 6 years of S.S. and Guyville?). It goes Am-D-E. Very basic song to play, but does sound really cool. I happen to like the song as well, and I really wish that Liz would have finished it and added "That's The Way I Like It" onto the end of it like she did on the Squirt TV performance of the song. I just wanted to thank everyone who has posted about Aimee Mann in the past. Thanks to you guys I decided to check her out and I bought both "I'm With Stupid" and the Magnolia Soundtrack. Both albums are fantastic and haven't left my CD player since buying them last Saturday. "I'm With Stupid" has quickly become one of my favorite albums, and now I really do understand the comparisons of Aimee to Liz. Thanks list! Definitely Polyester Bride. Everytime I hear that song I get flashbacks to the first time I heard it. Some tiny little radio station in LA played it about two weeks before WCSE was released. Me and my friend (who also loves Liz) were driving home from a party in the Hollywood hills, and when they announced the song we both flipped out, pulled over and blasted the song while we danced around on one of the plateaus that over looks LA. I see that scene so clearly everytime I hear that song. Especially because it was so appropriate ....I spent most of my time talking about how much I wanted to "fly away" from Los Angeles. :) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Dec 1999 22:55:54 EST From: LULU428@aol.com Subject: phairplay? um...what's phairplay? i can't believe i missed out on a compilation- please, i beg of you, what is this and who can make me a copy? i used to make tons and tons of stuff for you guys way back when... i know i haven't helped out in the distribution of liz in the last year, but i did my share back in the day. so will some kind soul fill me in on this cd that i didnt even know about?
