Alanis in Australia recently. The tickets cost $70 (about the same price as a festival ticket!) and most of the Alanis people's energy was kinda weak too, Shirley said on their website, that in Adelaide, the one I went to, all these people weren't reacting to Garbage at all and these people must have been there for Alanis! Me and my friends were some of the few to leave after Garbage too (well at least straight away anyway). >tape four (undated): >1. Probably because it's a simplified version of it- I haven't been learning guitar for very long. RocketBoyD said something like this: > they would also play Letters to Cleo's Here and Now, which > I also liked a lot........ I had a chance to talk with Letters to Cleo drummer a few months after "Here And Now" started playing on Melrose. He said the band didn't know the song was even going to be on it until it started playing. This pleasantly surprised them. And that was also the night I saw Kate Hanley (Henley ?) changing her shirt between songs offstage! Then our courageous listmaster Jason penned: > Ultimately, rather than complain about what other people are discussing, > post about something you'd like to see talked about. Hear hear! It's better to change the channel than it is to whine about the movie being shown. Shortly thereafter, Meow Girl wanted to know: > In the meantime, I’ve got a question for the list: I’m > buying a CD-RW an am doing my pre-buying research > right now. Any suggestions for the best ones out > there? Any tips or tricks the average buyer wouldn’t > know? To which I say, why get a rewritable CD-R? The discs are more expensive ($12 vs $1-$2), and so is the drive itself. I'm planning on making a purchase in the next couple of weeks, and am sticking with the one-time writer. ===== Mikey C Va Beach "Everyone should believe in something. While I am at it I would like to extend a huge thank you to Ken for procuring and distributing the WCSE demos. Ken way and above the call of duty for such an undertaking. Shopping: http://shopping.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 18 Dec 1999 00:44:52 -0500 From: Ginz Subject: Aimee Mann and Liz Here is a brief clip of an interview Aimme Mann did with the Boston Phoenix just before her 1995 album "I'm With Stupid" was releaed. Now everyone, read closely and you'll catch the part where Aimee mentions Liz Phair ok? The difference with the new album is that there were some modern records I was listening to that were as much an influence as the older stuff. And that's funny, because it's almost a taboo in interviews to admit you've heard anything recent. If somebody says that you sound like Nirvana, you're supposed to immediately deny it. But a couple of years ago, there were a couple of albums that were so good I would consider them classics: Beck's Mellow Gold, the Posies' Frosting on the Beater, AND THE FIRST LIZ PHAIR ALBUM. And the Loud Family, as you know. You can read the whole interview here. //www.bostonphoenix.com/alt1/archive/music/reviews/01-18-96/AIMEE_MANN.html Also, check out www.aimeemann.com Also, pick up a copy of Aimee's first album 'Whatever'. This is one of the greatest albums I own. Ginz ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V2 #369 ************************************
