If you want to pay that much fine, its probably worth it if you really like LP, but theres plenty of people around here who would be more than happy to burn you a copy for "free." The person selling it probably got it somewhere else for FREE anyways! (and burned about 10 copies. Just for backup.) My wife and I do plan to party, but in a strange way: A progressive dinner with a few other couples followed by The Rocky Horror Picture Show at midnight. But this millennium stuff bugs me for several reasons. 1. I have nothing against using anything as an excuse to party, but I don't like people pressuring me to party on particular days. 2. Regardless of the historical accuracy of year one or when the next millennium really begins, the whole idea is predicated on a religious myth to which I do not subscribe. 3. Our species' fascination with clumps of years that end in zero is an accident of our having ten fingers, which led to the base ten number system. Thinking about life in terms of decades and attaching special significance to centuries and millennia is stupidly, thoughtlessly arbitrary. Segue from 2,000 years (more or less) of Jesus to Liz content: what do you know about Liz's spiritual feelings beyond what appeared in the 1994 Rolling Stone article? What appeared there seems to indicate a New Age sentiment, which is what I would have guessed about her: "The apartment is not particularly rock & roll -- except for the bathroom reading: The Encyclopedia of the Occult. Instead, it's a cozy domestic nest for Liz, Jim, Aidan and Willard. Phair settles into a couch. 'Life got a lot more open-ended for me lately,' she says. I want to release my identity for a moment and just be a citizen of the Earth. I don't actually think that will happen, but I'll write a song about it. I just have this sense of horror that people took "The Communist Manifesto" and widely tried to enact it by force. It was so rigid, and it was so structured. You cannot train animals like humans to obey like that. It just doesn't work. You can't say, "Be equal." Equality and generosity of spirit is something that comes through a spiritual evolution.' ...swear. that's what it says... Hey all- I just had to tell somebodies that I got the "yeah" in 6'1" right for the first time EVER! Over 1,000 listens, at least! Maybe you all don't care, but it's a huge moment for me. Back to our regularly scheduled paranoia, paige- ===== I'm obsessed, I'm a wreck, I'm insane. Isn't that what you want me to say? Don't you need to feel my blood on the tracks today? - --Liz Phair, "Blood Keeper" __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thousands of Stores. Millions of Products. This isn't really Liz related, except for the fact that you people are making to big a deal about the damn album title. She's an artist! Let her express herself however she wants to! It isn't her responsibility to please her fans, she is just a normal person who happens to write great songs. Now that that's off my chest, my friends friend came across the most unintentionally funny site I have ever seen. It is a guarantee that you will wet your pants. It is called "hello my future girlfriend", and was made by this weird 11 year old. When you go there, let it load up, cause he makes a whole speech! You HAVE to hear/see it! http://marmalade.cx/ Please respond when you go there, I'd love you opinions, and please tell others of this awesome, unintentionally silly site. I want to get him famous! - -Dan http://www.geocities.com/allisfullofdan/ ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V2 #360 ************************************
