Just the subject of a new Cure albums pisses me off! I've been hearing this forever, i want something that is going to make me feel the way i did when i heard my fisrt Cure song--"Lets Go To Bed", like Bob((i like to call him Bob)) is the end all and be all of humanity becuase he is so melencholy. ((I don't know if spelt that right but i have alseep and hallucinating))I mean "Wild Mood Swings" certainly didn't do it for me and now even "Galore" satisfied my needs for something new. I mean one song that i haven't listned to a billion times before. It it's from the downhill Cure days anyhow. I don't know...Disentigration is the best Cure album ever and yet Wish has sold more copies. Do you think it's the Friday I'm In Love junkies? Appropriately enough thier last *REALLY* good album was Desintigration. And that was so long ago. So WHY do i impatiently await a new Cure album? Because i know Bob can do it for us again. I know he can make us really feel. He did it before. Like maybe since he's been away so long he had an introspective moment and is ready to write another song like "Faith". Well, you know i'm thinking maybe. I'm not even going to run spell check on this..deal with it..i'm going to sleep... Well you can thank my wonderful friend on the Belle and Sebastian mailing list who got it from someone on there! That reminds me I should be getting this Placebo fanzine delivered soon that has a review of mine in it. Peoples, if you get the chance to see Placebo live, take it they're bloody awesome on stage! >Congrats!> Thanks Craig, this will hopefully be my 3rd convert after my sister, who got into WCSE before me and I bought it!, and my lovely Belle & Seb friend and at the moment I've attempting to convert my brother's friend and I tried to convert another friend but I think I got her more into Hole than Liz. Ok, this may be an obvious question but why isn't Alice Springs inside the Whip-Smart CD with the other songs where it says what instruments Liz plays in the songs? Also, all aussies on this list, go to http://www.abc.net.au/triplej and follow the link to the rage voting thing cause you can vote for your fav videos. Supernova's already on the list but I haven't voted for it yet- I will soon! Oh yeah when I was in the library today in my free at school, I saw this art book by Al Alvarez and yeah I was reminded. Should be seeing that quote book tomorrow- Liz quotes and more Courtney quotes but no Shirley quotes cause it was made before Garbage's time. Top 10 songs of the 90's well my list won't really be complete considering I only got into alternative music in '97. I know, I know, shame on me! Briefly de-lurking after how long I don't know. In ssd #338, Sally mentioned an appearance of the bull story from California and South Dakota on TV. I came across a reference to it in Tom Clancy's book "Executive Orders". While he didn't spell it out, it got the point across. Craig mentioned Drain STH in his list of lesser known female artists. Boy do they rock. I can hardly get their current album "Freaks Of Nature" out of my CD player. It was much the same with their first album "Horror Wrestling" a couple of years back when they were just known as Drain. That's enough from me for now. But I care about each and every one of you (except you there, in the back, with the hat -- yeah, you -- I don't like your attitude), so I will bravely soldier on to bring this important Liz-related information to the list. So I was reading the new issue of Bust a couple of weeks ago (it's the body issue, with Janeane Garofalo on the cover; I recommend purchasing it), and there was a review of a 'zine called "Speaking Phairly" that ran a little something like this: "From fucking and running to realizing that love is nothing, Liz Phair has sung the songs we've been hungry for. Editrix AJ agrees, and she's been kind enough to share with us her own life's ups and downs as it [sic] relates to the musical history of Liz Phair. AJ says she's grown up with Liz Phair, and she isn't speaking literally but metaphorically. And just like Liz and the Virginia Slims gal, AJ's come a long way, baby." So I said, "Hey, that sounds pretty good!" and I sent in my dollar and a little note, and lo and behold if that 'zine didn't show up in my mailbox yesterday afternoon. So I read it and I said to myself, "Hey, that *was* pretty good! And all for one measly dollar! I should encourage others to avail themselves of this amazing offer!" So: for a copy of "Speaking Phairly," send one stinkin' American dollar (US$1) to Station A, PO Box 2574 Champaign, IL 61825-2574 Do it! You will be so happy when the little brown envelope arrives to brighten your mailbox! Yeah! Now I have to go to class, then register for spring semester, then go to another class, then sleep, then drink heavily. Then get up at 8:30 tomorrow morning and start all over again.
