Subject: Phairities mishap Hello. Here to ask a favor. My car stereo (piece of shit) ate my copy of Phairities that Jaimee K. (Hi. Jaimee :) of the list was kind enough to send me. I only got to enjoy it for a few short days but was very attached. Would anyone be willing to send me another copy? I really have nothing to offer but a blank tape, postage, and my eternal thanks. If anyone would be willing just e-mail me at aseward77@hotmail.com Take Care. It's pretty clear that she should be around for a while if she wants to. I think it shows some maturity too. Hmmm, I disagree on most of this. I love having the live stuff. The version of Cooling is helli-beautiful and that song in general deserved to be on some album somewhere. The live version of Precious Things deserved to see daylight, cause it's one of the few songs I don't need to hear Tori perform solo. I think it's a strong set overall and the performances impeccable. I do agree that the new songs aren't as strong as the Choirgirl ones, I don't think Tori was able to give them enough time to simmer... But there are a lot of nifty gems on there - Glory of the 80s is like nothing I ever heard before and is quite comedic. Concertina is lovely; 1000 Oceans deserves more airplay than the new Mariah Carey or Celine Dion, but it's amazing how the most poppy of songs (see also Polyester Bride) won't get airplay because of the artist stigma. Vancouver, BC: 2,000,000 people. Not one decent corporate music station. On top of that, the University of BC (45,000 students) has a station which is actually really great but can only be picked up within about a 3 iron of the campus. The plight I face each morning when I hope that maybe I can turn on the radio and hear something decent.......9 times out of ten the pickings consist of: CFOX 99.3 favorites AC/DC and anything else that gets the white trash bopping their head. Any station that plays Sweet Emotion every day should lose their transmitting rights. CFMI 101.1 favorites See Above Z 95.3 favorites All Brittney and Backstreet...all the time! I shit you not. That is it. If you stick the cable in your stereo you can get 107.7 The End, out of Seattle, but it's kind of sad that this "City of Lemmings" can't play anything that goes well with us cynical 20somethings. At least it's just a matter of time before we'll have internet in our car and we'll be able to latch on to any station anywhere!!!!!!!! The Commodore Ballroom finally reopened here after 3 years (I think it's kind of the Aragon in Chicago and the Roseland in New York) 1000 person venue with the springiest floor in North America. The Canadians out there might have appreciated the floor bouncing performance of 54-40 (famed (barely) for having Hootie and the Blowfish rip off the "Everytime I look at you I go blind" song).
