The Bitter End is a pretty cool place, I have seen bands play there before and I am planning on seeing Janet there on Wednesday. Anybody else who might be going, feel free to e-mail me, maybe we can meet up there or something. Now, I am off to bed....I think I am going to listen to Fiona's new cd which I just bought. (Anecdote: I played the cd in my room this afternoon and my roommate said "Who is this? I really like it." and I said "It's Fiona Apple" and my roommate looked shocked and said "Wow...I thought I hated her." Open minds are a good thing! Now I just have to get her to appreciate Liz....) ~Emily ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Nov 1999 09:35:33 -0800 (PST) From: Jason Tedford Subject: Aimee Mann in Billboard Quick note kids! Aimee Mann has a cover story in the new Billboard. Talks in depth about her work with PTA on Magnolia and how the movie was actually inspired and written based on Mann's music. A great article! There is also a sidebar discussing Aimee's self released new album. The soundtrack will be out Dec. 7 with Aimee's album right around the same time. Lots more good stuff so read the article! I gotta run... Oh yeah, before I go I checked out this great new band last night called Verbow. The band is headed by guitarist/vocalist Jason Narducy and cellist Alison Chesley. The band has a great original sound. Their indie release was produced by Bob Mould (of Sugar fame) and their upcoming release on Sony/Epic (early 2000) was produced by our old friend Brad Wood. As you might guess they hail from Chicago. I got to meet and hang out with them and they're a great bunch. Check 'em out! off to save the damzels... tedford ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I clean rooms so i keep the TV on all day--mostly on Mtv cause it's not like i have time to channel surf or anythingand after like 10am it's like SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!!! Losts of real worl and making of the video shit! LIKE I FUCKING CARE! IF I CARED I WOULD HAVE READ THE FUCKING BOOK! The only thing i ever see that i would care to see is Fiona's new video, cause i like the song a lot, i didn't at first, but now i do, and i'm glad cause it gives me an excuse to buy the album. I hope it has some better qualities than title. Like the fact that on Tidal only like half the songs are like...something i don' feel like skipping over when i'm actually LISTENING. He posted, like, three sentences about the experience and then disappeared from the face of the earth, or at least the digests. Apart from Brad Wood producing them, this band can be connected to Liz one other way: Jason and Alison opened for her in Chicago on the '95 solo electric tour. It's amazing that I can remember things like this, but it took me over two weeks to memorize my new postal code (zip code, for you Americans).
