[Msmrizing2@aol.com] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 7 Nov 1999 11:28:45 -0500 From: "Chris DeLisle" Subject: crawling out of the woodwork Hello everyone, Gotta admit that the Liz posting brought me out of my hibernation. I've missed feeling like a regular part of the clan, sort of hanging out with friends I've never met, like Hurricane, my Princeton friend, all those Katies, the great WCSE session Master Delineator, senor King, and everyone else that's been involved in tape sending. How would I have ever survived without being introduced to Sleater-Kinney, Beth Orton, Jen Trynin, Neutral Milk Hotel, etc? To everyone I've ever corresponded with, a big "hellay" to ya. If Liz is listening, a couple things: 1) "Dance Of The Seven Veils" couldn't have been any sexier -- thanks for the memories in that church in Pontiac, MI 2) "What Makes You Happy" would have brought the house down every night had it been released as the single 3) "Guyville" may actually be the greatest album to have been released since "Blood On The Tracks" (no pressure on any future (or past) recordings, though - they're all ace) 4) too many other things to say, but Cliff's Notes-wise: like other great artists, you've had a profound and long-lasting affect on many people...can't wait for the new album... how the hell did you get "Jealousy" to be SO funky, SO rocking and SO danceable? Gushing a bit much, though not a dead in the wool lister, a dead in the wool fan, Chuck ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 7 Nov 1999 10:00:02 -0800 (PST) From: Craig King Subject: Liz on list? and "Nashville" How cool is it that we actually have Liz posting to out list? We have been graced by true greatness. Liz, if your out there, it is truly an honor. I have to say that I too love the "Nashville" discussion. I really think her vocals are amazing in that song. It has always been one of my favorite songs off of Whip-Smart as well. Then again, I love the whole album, but that is indeed one of my favorite songs. It's kind of wierd because some of my favorite Liz songs are one's that nobody else ever picks as their favorites. "Glory", "Dogs of L.A.", and "Russian Girl" are just a few. So Liz is still recording demos out in L.A. huh? Hmmmm.... Didn't someone report awhile back that she was seen coming out of a studio on Chicago? Perhaps she needed a change of scenery, or maybe she pulled a WCSE and started over in L.A. At least we know she's recording! Hey Liz, if you are really out there and reading this..... PLEASE put "Blood Keeper" on the next record! There are a great many of us here on the list that have "Blood Keeper" as one of our all time favorite Liz songs. Just thought I'd mention it.
