Well, I must respond to Julie's first since, well, we have been Liz fans together long before either of us knew this list existed. Of course I love singing along with all of Liz's songs, but I really think Divorce Song is one of the best to sing. You just know you have to belt it out when Liz says "And it's true that I stole your lighter...." etc etc. I also love singing Fuck and Run, especially the beginning "I woke up alarmed..." That's a great line. Which leads me to my favorite line of all-time, which is from Alice Springs: "Some pot of gold, it's just a carpeting store on opening day." It gives me chills! I know I posted about that line once a long time ago. You know....sometimes I can't get over how much I love Liz's music. I think I am going to listen to Exile tonight while I'm going to sleep. ~Emily ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Oct 1999 08:29:05 -0700 (PDT) From: Dave Bodamer Subject: Mp3 sharing Hello all, I was curious as to whether there is interest in using this service to create a Supsys Mp3 depository: http://mp3.freediskspace.com/ It's free (duh) and you get 25 MB to start to store mp3s. Someone could make an account that anyone on subsys could access. It would be an easy place to place to share any liz mp3s people might have. I'm on another mailing list that set up something similar. the main down side is that only one person can be logged into the account at a once so it would be probably be tied up most of the time considering how many people read this list. Of course we could create multiple accounts, which would give the added benefit of increased storage space. anyway, it's a suggestion d. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? They obviously were older than the 60's generation. However, the coolest thing about them is that they let me & my sis listen to whatever we wanted, so we were free to explore all dif'rent genres. My 3 yr old son Jared's favorite bands include: 1.Meat Puppets 2.Ben Lee 3.Red Hot Chili Peppers 4.Smashmouth Unfortunately, though I love Liz, I've got to censor some of her songs. It kills me to do it, but I can't have him asking me questions about some of her material. Beth Orton is Awesome & I love the new Chili Peppers CD. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Oct 1999 23:22:40 -0400 From: "John A. Johnson" Subject: Liz mentioned on Cold Feet This evening on the new TV series Cold Feet, Adam is moving his stuff into Shelley's apartment and starts looking for some music to put on. Picking up CDs, he says, "What's this? Liz Phair? Alanis Morissette?" He then demonstrates his lack of musical maturity and sophistication by putting on some nondescript, loud tune and playing air guitar. - ----------------------------------- John A.
