This is the second absolute of the universe, next to the speed of light. We respect others, we don't bomb buses, we know what good music is, we pay for all of our software, we're good-looking, clever, and can hold our alcohol. Because we are such loverly humans, we have our share of coattail riders and hangers-on. Some even make it to the list (freakbags we all know and disdain). Some can't get off the list (see: helpless but rude poster in previous digest). Let us (we know who we are) continue to maintain our high level of posting quality on our beloved support-system and set an example for our less-fortunate brethren (very distant brethren, most likely adopted). Imagine being a member of such a list, constantly skimming irrelevant messages and the bluster and babble of the incoherent crack-smokers that have been squatting. Yes, fellow elite, such atrocities go unnoticed on those third-world mailing lists, be thankful that you are resident on the inimitable Support-system. Wait no more: My favorite line (and no, it's not a mistake) is from 6'1, specifically "I loved my life, and I hated you". I'd prefer to update it in the present tense, though--I love my life, and I hate you. That's you in the grand sense. Like I told some weepy limp-wrist type who called me full of hatred for some obscure demographic, "I'm not discriminatory in my hate. I hate everyone fully and equally." >Anyway, the thread is... what's your fave line from one >of Liz's songs? I actually have something just like this in my guestbook Aaron Hunter sez: >I am all about subjectivity and respecting people's opinions and realizing >that beauty, art and everything else are in the eye of the beholder. Still, >I can't help but feeling, way deep down inside, that Liz Phair fans are a >little bit cooler than everyone else. > >aaron Me, I'm all for objectivity, especially when I am the source thereof. Such self-centeredness has its applications. Example: With my definition of beauty, art, etc...Britney Spears gets the gong in round one. Yes, get off the stage--we'll listen to someone who's been there, done that, and stopped that years before you could even think that. ECP, we're ready for your screen test now. Remember the old Miller Lite ads where the driver was to greet Doctor Galaciwicz (or something), and the commercial's star bungles the name miserably? The key line there translates perfectly WRT your last phrase. Am I as a Liz Phair fan a little bit cooler than everyone else? Yes. Yes I am! Just wanted to write and say that Liz helped me out twice today! First, when I was writing an English essay (bleh), I was listening to Exile. :) Yippee! Then, tonight I was driving a long, solitary drive listening to a Liz/ Sheryl tape that Katie (from the list) made me awhile ago. Thanks to her for a great tape! All of a sudden, "Stuck on an Island." I really like that song, and "Now it's dark, and I'm tired. . ." summed up the situation very well! But, Liz kept me awake on my long drive. Which made me think of a new thread! Hopefully one that hasn't been done (at least recently). What's your favorite Liz song to sing aloud to, esp in the car? I love so many of Liz, but I'd have to say that my favs are "Divorce Song," and "Uncle Alvarez." "Tra, La, La" is lots of fun too, esp. in the car! And I can't forget that special song that all my friends and I would harmonize to- "Johnny Sunshine." (cheers to Emily if she's reading! :) ) Nighty-night to all, Julie ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V2 #319 ************************************
