You played the Kostars?!! I love them so so so much, and no one knows who the hell they are, at least in my neck of the woods. What pure greatness!! LIZ CONTENT: ============ Last night I had my first Liz dream. I was in Estonia for some weird reason, and I was back in high school and it was our class trip. And I wanted to make a call to my friend Teija in Finland, cause Estonia is closer than America, or something. So then, a while later, after I argued with some people, trying to get them to let me use their phone, I found myself standing outside of a little brick building. Then Liz came out, holding a bass guitar. And she was all, "Hey" and for some reason I wasn't at all nervous, and I told her about the times I had seen her, and she recognized me, and we chatted about stuff, and I asked her what her favorite song was and stuff. And she was super nice to me, and I was all excited cause Liz Phair was MY friend. That's all I remember. I woke up with the warm fuzzies... I love the Kostars too! It sprung out of my love of luscious jackson, who were GREAT on 10/5 at Irving PLaza in NYC...they brought out Vivian as their special guest towards the end. I was bawling! Does anyone know when Vivian Trimble's new project, Dusty Trails Music will be out? Any info at all? - -Jess ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 06 Oct 1999 23:16:43 PDT From: "Mark Schmidt" Subject: 2-for-1 trading I just wanted to thank Dana for sharing what I think is the most reasonable opinion on the matter expressed thus far. I think many people have trouble seeing the issue from a point of view other than their own. If you have nothing to trade, and want all kinds of stuff, of course it's great when all you have to do is send a blank and postage. But when you HAVE pretty much everything you want, and no one is offering you anything you're interested in, it starts getting really old spending the time to make copies for people and getting absolutely no benefit from it. That's not even a TRADE anymore; it's just a gift. You don't want to be mean and say no, but why should it be that the other guy gets an exciting new recording to listen to, and you get to spend your time dubbing, spend more time packing and mailing, and have to settle for a warm "thank you?" In instances such as these, I have been known to ask for an extra blank (CD-R, in my case) in trade. Or I'll ask for a couple blanks, and take care of the cost of shipping back the recording(s). My feelings are never hurt when someone says no to those terms, and I hope no one's feelings are ever hurt when I offer them. If you all would just come up with some kick-ass Maria McKee bootlegs for me, I'd be throwing out Liz CD's all over the country! :) - ---Mark (http://musicmark.webjump.com) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 07 Oct 1999 05:27:19 -0700 From: Shelly & John Subject: Aimee Mann & dreaming...
