"so wierd and lame" and fuck the two-for-one TRADE shit. that isn't a trade, why even bother sending blanks? just send dan and friends $14.99 to cover their time, supplies, and shipping. just because they are in the bootlegging business doesn't mean that everyone who burns cds for other people does it in mass quantities. sometimes, like m.l. magdalene said, people do it as a way to spread their favorite artists. so, thank you ruthie, liz and ginz, even though it's in advance. and ruthie, thanks for the story on where your show title comes from. I knew I recognized it from somewhere. they just showed the first show I ever watched last night on x2, the season three finale. why isn't the season premiere until november 7? so long away... jake ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Oct 1999 07:03:47 -0700 (PDT) From: Andy Peters Subject: new album? when is Liz's new album coming out? has she even started recording it? ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? It is a long estabilished and accepted custom among tape traders, going back to before anyone ever even thought about having a CD burner. I have seen the custom extended to CDs several times already in the last couple fo years. - -Chris ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 04 Oct 1999 11:55:13 -0700 From: Momus Subject: the fiona debacle and other tales of excess the near and dear jaime bids beware: >okay... fiona has been a bit of a pain in the past, >and her debut cd was... >well, fucking depressing as hell !!! ...actually have nothing negative to say about the apple...actually love her songs...they have a depth that clearly comes from someone that has lived beyond their years and the talent to put said experience to very listenable music...but, having said that, rest assured that at least one individual is going to memorize the entire title prior to purchase and...well, you get the picture. i do however hope that the contents are viable in spite of the LAME ASS ATTEMPT TO GET THE CONSUMER'S ATTENTION which like so many others before it, is just another case of follow the cash flow extravaganza...hell, if i could put together 90 words and sell same to an eager public, i'm there...i can be as depressing as the next...maybe this is 90...and maybe i should just levitate outta here...if i offered my words in trade, do i only need 45? too many questions to ponder...too much time to spend in ponderance...if fiona sang of antibiotics and india, would we still love her? or would she be uninvited? i'll need a moment...to deliberate... mild and unspiced MrE - -- "Living and dying...we feed the flame" - Clive Barker ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Oct 1999 17:42:56 EDT From: Nelsewhere@aol.com Subject: Re: the fiona debacle and other tales of excess I happen to think Sarah McLachlan, Liz Phair, Me'shell N'Degeocello, and Fiona are the 4 most talented women in music today!
