She [Colleen Fitzpatrick, can you get more Irish?] was the lead singer of the somewhat indie band "Eve's Plum" who were actually pretty good. I actually remember their video for one of their singles was played concurrently with "Never Said" on MTV for a while. Am I the only one that misses Liz having Casey Rice as her right-hand man on guitar? Don't get me wrong, I think Buddy is a great guitarist and this is nothing against him personally, but I loved Casey's "sound" on guitar. Casey's "sound" on guitar was alot more raw than Buddy's and I think that raw sound fits better with alot of Liz's songs. "Supernova" and "Stratford" have just never sounded the same live since Buddy started playing on them. The Fuck and Run bootleg is proof of that. BTW, does anybody know what Casey is up to these days? I was just curious. And another thing. Turn up Liz's guitar when she's playing live!!!!!!!!!!! It seems like when Buddy kicks in with his guitar he totally drowns out Liz. I hate that! Liz's guitar should be just as loud as Buddy's. I know there's this thread going around about Liz songs people don't like. I can honestly say that there is not one Liz song that I do not like. Sure there are songs I like better than others, but I honestly do not hate any Liz song. So instead of Listing the Liz songs I hate, here are the Liz songs I LIKE the most: - - Stratford-On-Guy - - Glory - - Russian Girl (wcse sessions disc 1) - - Blood Keeper - - Supernova (hey, it was the first song that turned me onto Liz!) - - Polyester Bride (Never get sick of it. Best guitar riff Liz has ever written) - - Dogs of L.A. - - Hello Sailor - - any of her new stuff That's it from me! All righty..I'm in need of any suggestions everyone may have. I'm going to deliver a speech about Liz on Monday, Oct. 4 and would like to cram in as much as I can in the three to five minutes time limit I have. The only idea I have is making a collage of pictures I have, tag my cds along and end my speech with the video of Liz performing Divorce Song from Dekalb. Actually, I have no idea why I'm emailing this list for suggestions, but if it turns out I can't play the video, what would the one song I should play for a group of 20 or so people who has heard the name of Liz Phair for the past three speeches, but never heard of her music? Oh yeah...how the hell do you pronounce her husband's last name? Staskausas? I'm guessing it's Stas-kaus-as. Sheesh...same thing for Juvenilia..but I probably won't mention this EP. I've always called it Juvie anyways. Well, thanks in advance for suggestions everyone may have. Hopefully Craig and Katie Brown won't mind me using their pictures. Gotta mention that in my speech as well. Yikes! Gotta cover my Spaceegg Car! DOH! Anyways...it's always good to do a speech on something I know enough about right? :) Katie ();) NP: Meredith Brooks_Deconstruction ===== ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "You don't know what it's like to listen to your fears. I wish I had tapes of the new stuff I've heard them play live. Oh well, something else to look forward to...
