It only gets better. Also, I want to thank Stacey Wirt in public for hooking me up with some Liz stuff, because she is awesome and deserving of acclaim. Much respect to Stacey. That's really bad that posing naked gets women somewhere today, men don't have to pose naked to get anywhere, bloody sexism. Anyway, I would kinda lose respect for her if she did pose in Playboy...Sally "I've never been an extrovert but I'm still breathing" 36 Degrees, Placebo *********************************** chickclick.com http://www.chickclick.com girl sites that don't fake it. http://www.chickmail.com sign up for your free email. *********************************** ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 01 Sep 1999 04:53:10 PDT From: tommyk7@excite.com Subject: Re: Liz in Playboy On Wed, 01 Sep 1999 03:46:09 -0700, Sally Mae wrote: "I really hope Liz doesn't pose in Playboy because I think it is really degrading to pose naked in a national, possibly international magazine just so males (and some females too I suppose) can perve at her. Hmmm...can't say I disagree with you...you ARE inciting a flame war with this you realize...it's probably just a rumor...Playboy is notorious for hounding beautiful women incessantly to pose...they also have been...known (ahem) to let stars of extraordinary status pose semi-nude or just in lingerie. I spent ages 11-18 growing up in a suberb of memphis, and driving from illinois to memphis and back, I go through east arkansas (I-55). so, for me, it's all in good fun to take a crack at the rednecks running around down there. I went to high school with enough of them. did you catch the hbo special about the west memphis murders a few years back? ol' damien echols (or however you spell it) and his buddies that were charged with brutally killing those three 8-year-olds. I've always wondered what became of that, if they were pretty sure they got the right guys or not. and I hope you wouldn't spit tobacco on your gunrack, it would get all over your gun...and there is something to be said for running around in the summertime with no shoes on...so, y'all watch out now, 'cause the south's gonna rise again. jason ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 02 Sep 1999 11:15:46 +1000 From: "S. I don't know if anyone is aware of one picture of my cat, Jett, sleeping next to the beanie egg I have on my page. Well...here's JoJo lying next to my mom's WCSE cd in the sewing room. Noticed it when I got the pic back and think there's something floating in my house to find my cats near my Liz-related items! http://www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/birdland/9820/jojo_liz.jpg Anyways...it only makes me think of an email I got saying that cats are tiny women in fur coats. I first saw Liz at this show too, it was a little shorter than I would have preferred, but I guess it was the normal length for her shows. Apparently it didn't even sell out, because I was able to buy a ticket at the box office about 15 minutes before the scheduled start. My first Liz CD was Whip Smart, then EIG. I can't remember exactly why I bought it, probably after hearing "Supernova" on MTV and liking it more each time. I do remember reading the '93 Village Voice poll of music critics where EIG won best of the year and thinking it was undeserved (I hadn't heard anything beyond "Never Said" at that point). After WS, I then bought EIG, which I didn't like as much for a while, but grew to like more than WS. Then a few boots (obviously I am a believer by now), and WCSE, which took a half dozen plays to grow on me. I just sent my check for Ken's disks, and whenever I'm at the Pasadena City College swap meet I check for Liz boots. ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V2 #261 ************************************
