Yeah, yeah, I know you all mean well and everything, but... Guys, for the love of God, do not fucking forge address headers so that they read 'From: support-system@smoe.org' when contacting bidders to let them know they can get tapes elsewhere. Also do not tell them to simply reply to the message to get more information. When someone sends something to , it normally goes to the list, right? Well, that's not the case if someone isn't actually subscribed to the list (this is also when list members post from addresses other than the one they use to receive the list, it just bounces to me). I've been getting these bouncing messages all day now, and it's taken me a while to figure out just what the hell was up. Thank God one of them finally included the message he was responding to. As much as I love running this list, you all have to understand that there is already a certain amount of work involved in it for me. Also, I am getting ready to move at the end of the month and have a lot of things I still have to look after. I just don't have time for anything additional right now, especially things like this. It's not that I don't agree with what you guys are doing, because I do (although, by forging the list's address, you have commited a crime, you know), it's just could you at least be sensible about it from now on? And just to show how not very amused I am, if anyone else continues to engage in such behavior and I find out who's doing it, I may be forced to report you to your ISP or kick you off of the list. If you're going to let people know how to get the tapes for the cost of blanks and postage, explain to them how to go about subscribing to the list then have them ask here for copies of whatever they're after. I had a friend some years back who made me tapes of like 4 r.e.m. albums, and the thing is, as the tapes wear out or I feel the need to have the albums on cd, I have purchased some of the taped albums on cd. New, not used. Okay one was used. No that wasn't on ethat I had on tape already. WEll I don't know. I don't know whree I stand on the issue. I think, actually, making tapes isn't as bad as making CD-Rs. Cuz CD-R's imitate the quality of the actual CD, and tapes eventaully just don't cut it, so you go out and buy the album. Yeah. I used to HATE hanson for example, and I GREW UP enough to say "U know what? They express themselves..they are artists..maybe I don't like their music, but u know what? I shouldn't say I hate them, or make fun of them" it's called MATURITY! The point of life isn't to go around bashing other people's beliefs, art, etc..it's the opposite..it's to connect, and be nice with people, even if u don't share their beliefs. >Maybe you're mad because Alanis got more credit, and Liz came out before >her, etc, >>>Nah that's not it. But not all the >difference, or even the majority. Just alot. No...see...ur VERY misinformed.. Alanis wrote ALL of that stuff..Maybe not all the music, but she wrote all the lyrics, and to me the lyrics count the most, because without lyrics that u can relate to, the album is pretty much shit! and she did help with the actual music too. She might not be as good at writing the melodies to songs, but she is getting better. she plays guitar, piano, flute, and harmonica. She also has written songs on the new album TOTALLY and uninvited, and some new songs..That was kinda her first album where she really got to express herself, other than her canadian disco pop albums. She is now getting more involved in all portions of her albums, and videos. she's even directed her latest vids.. she may have not been as good and involved at the start, but she's getting there, and u have to at least give her credit for that. she seems to be doing a damn good job at it. >But I think ALan-ass did. She seems so pre-fab. aha! She SEEMS! well maybe she seems it, but u don't have proof. If alanis was prefabricated she'd be up there with the rest of the teenybopper crew singers, and sell tons of stuff in stores, etc..U don't see singers that r prefabricated respecting great bands and singers that alanis likes, because they can't recognize real art..she does. She likes it because she understands their music.. steve ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V2 #245 ************************************
