My top five scary movies of all time? Don't have any. Movies that are supposed to be scary never scare me for some reason. Never been able to put myself into a movie where I had trouble sleeping and such. There was one movie though, but that was my friend's fault. She was squeezing my hand waaaay too tight and we were sitting too close to the screen. Go ahead! Laugh at me! 1.....2....3... Jurassic Park. Imagine the big T-Rex running towards ya. No wait...there is a scary movie. Something with giant cockroaches. Saw this movie when I was about five or so and it's one of those late 70's or early 80's movies. Someone has to know what I'm talking about, you can see it on the sci-fi channel sometimes. Anyways...had these nightmares of cockroaches killing my family and me. Terrible terrible. Other than that, scary movies are a laugh to me. Sort of a vulnerable soft-spot I guess we've all had one at one point. Hmm. I looked into that, because in the song "White Trash Moon" off of Kristin Hersh's new album there is also a mention of "Little Fontanelles". Could Kristin be a Liz fan? She also has a bit of a "Rip-off Fetish". Hmm. Now, some random venting: I think it's a huge tragedy that there is no more promotion behind WCSE!!! Why are they giving up after only two singles? It's such a great album and I knew for sure the second I heard it that it would finally break Liz into the mainstream!!! Big Tall Man and What Makes You Happy could and should be released as singles, dammit!!! Plus, I've read that when *Jewel* of all people first released her debut album, "Pieces of You", it sold terribly. But, one night Jewel was on the Conan O'Brien show, and >BOOM< copies start flying off the shelves. Explain that to me? Liz has done the whole talk show circuit, and she still isn't on Jewel's level of notoriety. It boggles the mind. But as with almost all of us, the reason I want Liz to break completely into the mainstream is so that whenever she wants to release new albums, there are no record exec people labeling her a financial risk. That's why Liz being on Capitol now really frightens me. Didn't that happen to Juliana Hatfield? And isn't Aimee Mann having a hell of a time trying to release a new album because of record exec BS? But on the flipside, maybe being on Capitol could mean MORE promotion. I mean, her label-mates *are* Ginger Spice and Meredith Brooks. It could happen. I'm sorry. Thanks for letting me vent. Latuh. I'll never see Divorce Song the same. What I once saw as the ultimate split up/screwed up relationship song - I will now see as the eerie theme song for those poor lost campers in Blair Witch Project. PS - I am REALLY happy I saw the movie BEFORE it was exposed on here...but for all of you who DIDN"T see it yet, but feel you have been cheated by the Liz List, go see it anyway...it's not the same until you experience it. SUSYdigesters-- I have a open question. Does anyone know what ever happened to Babes In Toyland? I stumbled on to them somehow about 4 or 5 yrs back... not long later Hole released _Live Through This_ and i picked it up after hearing much about her through Nirvana connections... I believe Kat or Kate Bellajard... is that right??? And Courtney had previously had a band or jammed with her. I know I saw that on MTV. Anyway, my question is... Has anyone ever noticed the correlation of their music. They used similar key phrases and words ( like 'sugar' and 'star' and 'sugarstar') and another thing is they both had the bleach blond hair, bright red lipstick, and the grunge-queen thing going on. I am the only one who noticed this??? Now personally, I think Hole has a better band... better sound, and courtney surely has a better voice... but Kat/Kate had such a way with lyrics. Thought I'd ask, since no one commented on my correlation between Liz and linda. whatever-i'm invisible. ~jaime* ~:~:~:~:~:~:~ "Always know sometimes think its me But you know I know when its a dream I think I know, I mean, oh yes, but its all wrong, That is I think I disagree..." ~J.Lennon -- Strawberry Fields Forever ~:~:~:~:~:~:~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Aug 1999 19:28:38 -0400 From: Valerie Barry Subject: computer assistance, please? my stereo, which has been on its last legs for years, recently bit it. i thought i'd be able to listen to cds on my computer (a 2 year-old IBM aptiva), and successfully played one today, but when i changed the disk, nothing happened. i looked at the cd dialog box and it said "no disk". why might this happen, o hardware gurus, and what might i do to fix it? liz content: i can't listen to her in my home, and that's a bad thing. thanks in advance! vjb *********************************************************** "...well look at me i'm frightening my friends..." - -Liz Phair ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Aug 1999 23:05:27 -0500 From: palik@ix.netcom.com Subject: Kinda OT Is the Ben Lee that Claire Danes is dating the same as Liz's buddy Ben Lee ?
