On the recent disscussion in the last post about bashing me for asking to earn liz recognition. i meant to match the name with the face, not that they should fucking pick her up and throw her onto mainstream radio and put her on the same FM level as sheryl crow. and god fordid that if liz was actually played on the radio. let's just curse her for having a fanbase other than some on this angry resentful list. big hit, backlash, i see yer face i I WANNA SMASH IT! turn your ugly face, cuz you are a bastard! fucking bitter, nathan PS: eve was framed NP: imogen Heap (sample it) _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. I've also seen the posts on this subject on the Aimme Mann email list, though I didn't know about the Buddy Judge connection. I will being seeing Aimee in New York on Sat, as well as at the last show, in Philly on Tues. I will see if Buddy is playing......if so, i'll have a little chat with him after the show. Let's see if we can't get to the bottowm of this. What a great summer..... Charlie Manson ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Aug 1999 01:31:56 -0700 From: "David Lizerbram" Subject: Looking to jam in LA, and the obligatory BWP BS Hey all. First off, I'm new to the list, so I'd like to say Hi to everybody. I've enjoyed reading everybody's posts over the last few days, although as a newbie I'd like more Liz content, but that's how these things go, I guess. So I was playing bass (I also play guitar) in this band here in LA, The In Crowd, but as of tonight I have tendered my resignation and played my last show with them. I want to interrupt here to say that I'm still friends with them, and the band kicks ass, so if you're in the area, be sure to check them out. However, it was a decision I had to make. The moral of the story is that I am totally looking to jam with any musicians in the LA area, not necessarily to form a band (right away) but just to have some fun and broaden my horizons. If you're interested, let me know: davidml@mediaone.net Here's my take on the BWP: This is not to imply that my opinion means more than anybody else, but just to give some background, I have seen more than my fair share of horror films, having gotten a degree from USC Film School, taken a class in horror films, written tons of papers on them, read all the books, etc. Except for when I was a little kid, only three movies have scared the hell out of me: Night of the Living Dead (original, of course), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Blair Witch Project. Maybe I just have a jones for gritty, no-budget horror flicks, but I loved this movie. But I also loved Evil Dead I and II, so what do I know? I am 16 and going to be 17 in september. I am also on the Sarah McLachlan FTE list. I have liked Liz for a really long time and last year i was fortunate to see her at Lilith Fair when it came to Buffalo. my god, i loved it. It was my first time seeing her in concert and i was in the 8th row. I was the only person that had aclue pretty much to who she was there, and i had a sign. Liz saw it and said something about it, but i couldnt hear her for some reason cause this drunk guy yelled something at her! heh, but it was really awesome. I remember some lady coming up to me after the performance cause she saw me standing up and singing to all of lizs songs (no one else was pretty much standing) and she goes to me "I am sorry to offend you, but who was that singing?" heh 'um thats Liz Phair' :) so welp, i am happy to be apart of the list and i jsut wanted to introduce myself. :) ~nic ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Aug 1999 04:01:44 -0400 From: "Ginz" Subject: Aimee Mann in NY I just got back from the Aimee Mann show in New York, at Tramps..... It was simply amazing. Ok, I chickened out and didn't ask Buddy (who also tours with Aimee) if Liz would be touring again in October. He looked very tired and I didn't want to nag him. I'll really, really try to ask him at the show in Philly this week and find out if the rumor is true.....or not. For those who didn't get to see Aimee this time..... she has a 7-or-so-song cd sampler of her third, mythical album. It costs $10 and is available at the shows. I'd be happy to pick up one for you on Tuesday. Email me if you'd like one....I'll try to take the first few requests (can't lay out too much cash, ya know?) I lost the web address - could somebody post it? Thanks... And could this digest please stop talking about Blair Witch Project? I'm on a fucking Liz Phair digest, I'd like to see some discussion on her. Grrr.... ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Aug 1999 09:58:55 -0400 From: "Jaime" Subject: no more marijuana tests or web pages!!! |> I may not have 'gotten' this film, but it's hard to be |>scared by stupid people who forget basic rules of outdoor survival and |>direction. You've got a compass and a brain; there's no excuse for getting |>lost. =P |>Michael Worrell Michael Worrell-- Maybe you dont have have a compass, but you have a brain... and I will admit that when the bwp 3 kept getting lost (AFTER WALKING SOUTH ALL DAY) I didnt notice it for awhile... but it doesnt take a rocket scientist, (or a liz phan -ha-) to notice that every time they spent the night, it was in the same place... I noticed more than once that they slept in the area with those hanging rock gardens. They werent using the compass wrong... they werent lost, Michael... The woods were haunted. I think you wasted your $7.50 and perhaps you need to see it sober. And no, this isnt the ending to the movie, or anything anyone should cry about, so its okay... And "M.L. Magdalene" says: |>Not true. I have known people who have done no such thing and with the help |>of one of those random pills passed. Maybe you know 100 people who have used these pills and passed. But my point is unless you did drugs, took the pills and took the test and passed, you cannot recommend these pills to anyone... WHY? Because you do not know for sure if they work. Yes maybe your one hundred friends did it... but you do not know that for sure, because it didnt happen to you. And that is the only way you can vouch for those pills. When you give advice for drug tests, you are playing with peoples lives. If you tell a pot-head that if he takes this pill he will pass... Your pot-head friend will take the pill and if he doesnt pass he faces losing his job, workers comp, and in some cases now all college aid, grants and scholarships. Now if that pill does not work for your loveable pot-head friend... it is all your fault, because you recommended the pill. True-- your pot-head friend did the drugs in the first place, making it his fault, but by telling him the pills worked because 100 of your friends tried it and passed-- He then puts his trust in you and tries it. As I said before there are many 'get clean quick' products out there at headshops and herbal stores, (but in truth you do need 30 days to flush out without them.) These products are not proven to work and most are not approved by the FDA... another thing: you dont know whats in these pills and drinks-- they dont tell you. Just hope it doesnt interfere with the medicine you already take-- or even aspirin!! MLM-- I am not trying to say your friends didnt pass... Just be careful with giving advice about drug testing. You wouldnt want to give anyone false hope and then watch them lose their job, or their comp case, or even their college education... Its playing with people's lives, and I sincerely hope the government will realize the error of its ways and bring back industrial hemp and use marijuana to the best of its potential... And stop these pain in the ass drug tests. And by the way, sorry for such a LONG post, but did anyone see that they not allowing marijuana reference pages on the net anymore. Even a --LINK-- to 'HIGH TIMES' can get you into trouble. I dont know how they can do this considering marijuana is legal in many places other than the US... But thanks... we did need more net-regulations... I cant wait for the sales tax either. bastards. ~jaime* - - - ------------------------------- HempStock 1999!!!
