I have no idea why but I could really see Liz covering this song. I could just see Liz going nuts doing this song live. It's not actually a "metal" song, but just a nice loud rock song. Anyone else on this list remember this song? What can I say. I'm a total product of the 80's. Hair metal ruled, at the time, and now I find myself listening to it more and more again. This is probably cuz 99% of rock music sucks these days with the exception of a few artists. raymond lew wrote: <> >>hey craig, which were you looking up? wwf or breast implants? hmmm.....<< Hahahahaha! *sarcasm* To set the record straight it was on a wrestling web site called 1wrestling.com. The lyrics are cool, but the lush instrumentation behind them is also an integral part of the song. The performance and the songwriting process are so tight that it makes a successful, somewhat original turn for an REM cover almost impossible. I don't agree at all with what u said about Alanis. Alanis iS NOTHING like the backstreet boys. The BSB's r in it for fame and money, and Alanis is against fame and money. They're lyrics r very cheesy, and hers r honest. Just because liz and tori came out before alanis, doesn't mean alanis is a copycat singer or fake. Just look...there were people before liz and tori, so who said tori and liz were first. I do think they're r extremely talented, I love both, but that's no reason for u to bash alanis. They're touring together, because they're both artists who like to express themselves, and respect each other very much. Even liz respects alanis, and said many good things about her during and after she opened for her. Also...alanis and tori's (well I know alanis wouldn't) wouldn't listen to what their record companies r forcing them to do. Maverick told alanis not to do things in mp3, and she did them anyway. She doesn';t listen to the. If they really forced her to do something, she would just start up her own label, because she is intelligent and would do it, but she doesn't listen to what they force her to do. Please start respecting other people's music, and be more openminded. U;d think liz and tori fans WOULD be more openminded, but all I hear from most tori and liz phans r how much they hate alanis, and how she looks like a horse, etc. very immature and hypocritical. Don't go by "Ironic" Go by songs like "Baba" and "Perfect" and "most of her songs. They're honest, and she's a very intelligent, sweet, honest woman! thank u! steve ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 May 1999 18:02:19 EDT From: AngelLieb@aol.com Subject: "Glory" video boot, concerts, movies Nicole wrote: "Umm does anyone know what is going on when, on the "Glory" boot, the crowd starts cheering during "chopsticks?" When Liz is performing Chopsticks, someone yelled out, "Marry me Liz!" Something like that and Liz raised her left hand to show off her wedding ring, that's why the crowd is laughing. Sigh...Hole to be performing at Lilith. That's good, cuz I'm reading all of these fans' reviews of them giving a kick ass show, letting them onto the stage and have them hang out there. Arrgh! If I had gone to the Ft. Lauderdale show or wherever it was. Florida sucks when it comes to concerts! I'm going to see Bonnie Raitt on June 13 and next roll of concerts (Tori Amos and The Cranberries) are in August. I'm guessing Nostradamus wrote somewhere that '99 is a bad year to do concerts in Florida. Oh well...time for some Liz content. Found a copy of the Amateur soundtrack at the Flea Market today. Haven't listened to it yet, quite surprised to find it though. When I went to see Notting Hill today, I couldn't help but think of Liz's "...knew Julia Roberts when I was 12..." when I was watching it. Good movie, I recommend it.
