Ginz I knew it was a J&MC song but I had a hard time pinpointing which one it was. I thought it was off of Darklands but when I played the tape a while back, it wasn't on there. Never thought to pull out my Stoned and Dethroned and yes it is an awesome album as is Munki. Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star appears on one of the tunes on both of these albums. Actually, I like all of the J&MC albums and have been a huge fan since their early days. By the way, Sometimes a Dream is a rad-ass song! I'm trying to figure out Firewalker, but it's not going so well. I'm still looking to get a 1966 Fender Duo Sonic II (the yellow guitar Liz said is dead). I found a site that had one for $349, but had just sold it. Oh well. Must keep hunting. Craig "AdRock" "I threw everything I had into the sea, now I want a little back. Forgive me if this is a question that has been asked and answered - Has anyone considered starting a CD version of the tape tree? I'd love to see a sort of master collection of the tapes and CD's floating around maintained somewhere. I'd be especially interested in seeing if we could begin to re-master some of the earlier generation bootleg tapes into CD's (for storage and ease of reproduction). Something like this would probably be the best way to avoid the exorbitant amount that some of us are willing to pay for such items! I imagine there would have to be some way of spreading the load out so as not to unduly burden any one person. Perhaps the cost of having a copy of the master library would be the cost of a blank CD-R, plus the obligation to send a few dozen copies out to other Liz fans (with duplication costs offset, naturally). It seems to me that we could keep the true fans supplied with CD's on a more-or-less constant basis without making anyone sit and burn hundreds of discs (except for Ken, who ought to qualify for sainthood! ). Any thoughts? Last I checked it was plain text. Don't ever have kids and this wouldn't happen! Nice to see spirited discussion of E-bay. WCSE demos were being sold 1 1/2 months ago. As far as Secretly Timid going for $140, I pretty sure Tadwhite was the winner. Aren't you on this list?? From PA I think. What gives? Also Katie(egg)? I noticed your cruel appraisel of E-bay but haven't you had the high bid on like 7 items last I looked? There is no doubt E-bay can be a vast ripoff. If you look you can find bargains. Bootlegs and videos seem to bring the most off the wall bidding. Thanks Jase for posting the New York Times article. Unfortunately I knew the sad truth already. All you need to know about the music business is Paul McCartney got outbid by Michael Jackson for his own Beatles catalog! For like 70 million. And then Micheal Jackson lets Nike use it in a commercial for mucho dinero. Over Paul McCartney's protests. A fellow artist fucked him over. Thats why Courtney Love has the rights to the Nirvana catalog. Because Kurt Cobain was smart/stupid enough to hold out for a better deal. Smart if they accept, stupid if they don't since they have no band.(Or at least no one hears it). In closing I'd like to say I thought I hated KB more than anyone because of her brush with fame. But Steve K., Liz's hair was in your face. And she likes you? And you fuckin heard Jealousy. I HATE YOU! With Envy, Bill in CT P.S. Ruthie, I'm glad to see you appreciated my holding back. Unlike others. We were after all born on the same day, although sadly not year. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 May 1999 21:51:42 PDT From: "jeF kearns" Subject: whitechololate demos Hi!
