This might not be news to anyone, and even if it is, it isnt anything to freak about... but... Okay, I'm in my boyfriends car, and I reach in the back seat to get my Liz CDs (I crammed them all into the WCSE and WS cases-- not smart I know) and I get WS... and I get WCSE--- FUCK!!! it is soaking wet! An entire bottle of windex emptied on my CD!!! I open it and WS is the only one in the case... I played it. Thank God it was fine. But I pulled out the liner it is soaked so I unfold it and lay it on the dash to dry. Then I pull the white thing that holds the CD out... what do I see??? A big brown eye staring at me. I didn't know this picture was here! Strange. It isn't Liz's eye... she has blue eyes, so it makes me wonder... who's eye is this??? So I said... They must be the cheerleaders from the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video. It sems Liz is moving towards a harder edge sound, which I think is great. I really hope she continues to move in this direction. Personally, Don't Apologize is my fav out of the 3 new Liz songs cuz its got a great driving beat and and great driving guitar riffs by Liz. If Don't Apologize and Firewalker are any indication of what the next Liz album is going to sound like, then I think we're all in for something extra special. A quote from the interview: "I really kind of decided in my mind to let the career go. I was like if I want it, I'll try it again. But if I don't, I won't." She also does this really cool impersonation of Arnold Schwarzenegger's "I'll be back." That must be a pretty rough high school you go to, Katie. Exactly how hard must Liz rock before people will stop undermining her ever-increasing rock-hardness?" It is a joke, but in some way, I do find it true. It reminded me of the songs I had to dance to when I was on dance team. Most of the songs were a torture, being that they were hip-hop and really annoying. I only got one of my songs out of my collection to be choreographed with, "Come Together" by The Beatles. As for the question you asked, I'm not sure, can't read their minds. Thank goodness I only have six more days of school left to get through! Now...what kind of guitar is Liz's red guitar? I was listening to Girlysound and the song 'Sometimes a Dream' has a small excerpt from the song 'Head On' by The Jesus and Mary Chain, from their 1989 album "Automatic". And, of course the melody is the same. Liz Phair sings: "Makes you want to feel makes you want to cry Makes you want to tear the stars from the sky..." The Jesus and Mary Chain sings: "Makes you want to feel makes you want to try Makes you want to blow the stars from the sky..." the rest of the chorus in Sometimes a Dream follows the Mary Chain's melody and the lyrics have additional similarities. By the way, i recommend The Jesus and Mary Chain's album "Stoned and Dethroned".
