I'd been curious about the movie, given all the possibilities that the soundtrack created in my mind. I haven't read the short story, but I gotta believe the original story must have taken place in the late 60's or early 70's, as that's where the music takes me. Anyway, the movie was fairly quirky, but not quirky enough to be entirely comedic. Put together in sort of a vignette form, it has a flow, but not much. It has a number of moments, but not too many. There's not much of a plot or a driving pulse, but that said, there are some decent performances. :) Natasha Gregson just may be a huge star in a couple of years. There's a fair share of nudity -- it made me feel pretty horny, but I wouldn't call it erotic. They basically used all of the songs on the soundtrack except "Just Really Wanna See You," which, after "Erecting A Movie Star," is my favorite song (maybe they played it during the end credits). I don't know. It quenched my curiosity, but it didn't really do a whole hell of a lot for me. *** To add to the "retro-Liz" theme, I always thought "Love Is Nothing" sounded like a little homage to a lot of sappy, melodramatic love songs from the late 60's, early 70's -- there's something about that organ sound, the opening strums of the guitar, and the general flow of the song.
