Inflatable Liz doll, preferably heated And I have to agree with you, Nickle Ho :), I'm insanely jealous of all the Loung Axers, but somehow reading about it is good. Were you looking for masochism? And the pictures are good too, thanks Craig. It's really almost like I'm there. Almost. I feel like The International Club are the ambassadors of the list to Liz. A state unto herself. Um, good work people. Oh yeah, I read the Sleater-Kinney interview in watchamagazine, and they had something not oh0sonice to say about our idol! AND had a lot of fun bashing Courtney Love! Eh, Mr.E, you dog-scissoring freak! Basically, the only thing they said about Liz was when they were talking about what bands they were listening to, and [I don't remember who] recommends Edith Frost, saying "...[she's] what Liz Phair could have been." Even more spiritual or something. I think I've heard her name on the list. :| ANd re:S-K, I would start with their first, self-titled album. Yum. Oh, and I'm organizing a tour for my one-woman band, and would like to hear from any a youse with recommendations of good local clubs I might could play. And if you book me somewhere, you can make any Liz request(s) at the show! And I might be able to play it, like if you give me week or two advance notice on the request(s) and then I learn it or something. That would be cool if Phish, how they always cover a whole album on Halloween, if they would do Girlysounds, or any Liz album. That would rock. I'm gonna do that on Halloween. So. And thanks Katie B for your great review, I REALLY felt like I was there! :) Or maybe that's the drugs taking effect. The (relatively) recent profusion of Liz sites combined with my hectic and stressful everday life has left me burned out, and I need a break (without the guilt associated with the last couple of months, in which I just couldn't bring myself to update Netville but felt like I was doing a grave disservice to my, you know, adoring public in failing to do so). I *tried* to take a break last August, but then Tim from Lanline rode up on his white horse and offered me web space and my super-sexy domain name; transferring my metric buttload of files and working up a new design kept me busy for a few months. But now I'm tired and bored again, and I need some space. Netville and I are going to spend a little while apart and reassess our relationship. Wish us luck. The good news is that I'm revved up to do some butt-kicking on Netville's sister site, eclectricity. I've started a (quasi-) daily From the Editor column there that I expect to enjoy, and I'm hoping to receive lots of submissions (hint, hint) for the spring. So check it out regularly and yell at me if I fall behind: http://www.eclectricity.org ObLiz: I just bought myself a tin of a cosmetic from Benefit called Dr. Feelgood (Jasmine Davila, you know what I'm talking about). So perhaps "Johnny Feelgood" is actually a very subtle paean to a fabulous little makeup item (Liz is very fashion-forward, after all). No, I'm not one of those angry former ticket-holders who long ago gave up the hope that Liz would once again reschedule. I'm new to this whole Columbus situation. I don't even know yet if an under-21er like myself will get past the bouncer. (Come to think of it, I probably should've checked that one out before buying the ticket... oh well.) Am I foolish for ordering a ticket and expecting to see Liz live on Let's Smoke Pot Day (whatever that is)? Are the lot of you former ticket-holders still planning on going if it actually happens? Who wants to hang out? It looks like I'll be arriving (by train this time!) in Columbus the morning of the show, so I'll have all day to do nothing if anyone wants to do nothing (or something, perhaps) with me. Although not a member of the exclusive International Club, I have had positive experiences meeting other Liz enthusiasts in various crazy North American cities (Tales From the Road available upon request).
