Subject: JEALOUSY :( I'm so fucking jealous of everyone who was at the lounge ax, and esp. miss Katie Brown. Yes, I have jealousy problems, namely that I am overwhelmed with it all the time, but this is the epitome. If I was there, I so would have volunteered to go on stage! Katie, you the luckiest bitch alive and no one else will ever ever get the opportunity you had, and i'm forever insanely jealous of you. Sigh. Thanks to all who are making mean names for me!!! I'm sure I should get over my jealousy, but i can't. I'm already hooked... You know, I was in that Pearl Jammy mood the other day, and i wouldn't want to admit it to myself, but although liz is 2nd, she isn't very far 2nd. the NP: thing is interesting, but for some reason i don't let mysefl do it. I like reading otehr people's np: but I just feel like a dork if i do it. I don't know what it is. "i mean there aren't any fun nicknames about bass ale, harp or anchor steam are there???" WEll my roommate last year was writing a paper about magazine ads or something, adn the ad she chose was for bass ale, but on the paper she accidentally wrote, in big letters (as the heading): BALE ASS. That would be a fun nickname! Sigh. It's really past important that i go to bed cuz i have to study for this hard test tomorrow (I have to study for it tomorrow) but i don't have alot of time cuz between classes, going to the professors' office hours, and buffy, oh and trying to get decent sleep, I don't know. And I am teh worst studier. It's like... study for 20 min, take an hour break, repeat. Sigh. It doesnt' get me good grades. Anyway... you lounge axers (esp. katie) are the luckiest fucks. I hate having to be so jealous of you. :( For anyone who is curious, in my non-studying i have added form mail to my website. its' not itneresting cuz you all obviously have e-mail, but it took me probably a total of 5 or 6 hours to set it up. And there are at least three things on my site right now that are inoperative, but they aren't things i control! My guestbook, the mini-survey, and the mega-survey's cgi host are all fucked! Grrrr. I try, i fucking try. Anyway... the form mail is at http://www.angelfire.com/ca/DontWalk/formmail.html, but I'm proudest of the thank you page cuz it just looks kinda cool, that's at http://www.angelfire.com/ca/DontWalk/thanksmail.html. And my site is at http://www.angelfire.com/ca/DontWalk. Whomever has that picture of the group at lounge ax... FIND A SCANNER! If you send me the pic, I'll post it on my site!!! I can even put fishbowls on everyone's head!! If need be. Okey dokey, I hate to do this, but I did it before and nobody yelled at me, so here we are. I'm soliciting submissions for everyone's favorite online 'zine, eclectricity. It can be of any reproducible medium (writing, art, music [sheet *or* recorded--that's the wonder of the Internet], whatever), but I'm looking specifically for stuff with a current events slant. Also on the eclec wish list: book and music (c'mon, people!) reviews and poetry. We're a bit short on visual art, too, so if you've got any laying around, drop me a line. No scanner? E-mail me, and we'll chat, try to work something out. If you feel that you absolutely *must* get a feel for the 'zine (which is not to say I recommend this, as I feel it might quash your blooming creativity), you can take a peek at http://www.eclectricity.org ObLiz: Plans for the DC Liz Phair Festival of Caring and Love (DC PhFest) are humming along nicely, such as they are. I really want to do t-shirts, but they're too damned expensive, so I'm thinking we can each bring our own shirt and I'll provide the fabric markers and we can decorate our shirts ourselves. It's DYI chic! Or maybe I'm just smoking too much crack. Many list people have recounted how they met Liz, so here goes....... After her show, I was walking toward the stairs inside the club and there was Liz. I surprised myself by cooly saying, "Liz can you sign something for me?" "Sure," Liz smiled. Something felt wrong. We were just at the top of the stairs that leads to the basement/restrooms of the Lounge Ax. I felt like someone else would approach Liz at any moment and interrupt my perfect moment. I guess my old dating instincts kicked in because I said, "I'll walk you down." Maybe I thought I was walking her home from school. Logic does not accompany you when you encounter those dazzling eyes. Clearly, Liz does not live in the basement of the Lounge Ax. Liz was polite and gracious. "Uh, I'm going to the ladies room." Jorge was red-faced and backpeddling. "That's okay. I'll stop before we get there." At the bottom of the stairs, I offered a red Flair pen and a photo I got off the Internet, probably the web site of someone reading this post. She signed her name and went about her business. She said, "Nice print. Did you get it off the computer?" To me, the words were poetry. She seemed to be in a great mood after such a relaxed, amazing show. About 40 minutes later, as she was leaving the Lounge Ax with her husband, four Liz fans with puppy eyes (Me, Katie, Craig, Jason) asked for a group photo. She must have found it amusing. "Oh yeah," Liz said, "The International Club." The rest is Liz history. 2) A couple of people have asked about the photos. They will be posted soon on Craig King's website, Phair Territory. I'm sure Craig will post when it's done. Craig also took a bunch of pics including the infamous Katie "Flower" duet. 3) A girl I met at the show, Carol, says Henry is a real bartender that Liz knows. Has anyone else heard that about "Polyester Bride."
