Hey supporters... I just wanted to update everyone that I have added some more things to "The Slick Divide", my Liz site. Because of many people's requests, there is now a tablature area, although there is currently only one song tabbed ("Polyester Bride"). I have hopes that people will send in the songs they have tabbed and I'll add them to the site. If not, fine... be a poop-face. I've also added (finally) the lyrics section... and overall the site just looks 'neater' and less cluttered. So take a look, dammit. As far as Liz-Phest... (or whatever we're calling it). I really... REALLY want to go (especially to meet some of you), but I don't know what will be possible come June/July. I guess all I can do is cross my fingers. Well, that's about all I have to say. Hasta. Sometimes, Robbie ps.) Nicole, sorry I cut you off... I was booted and was so exhausted from a trip to San Francisco that I just went to bed. My apologies. IMHO, they're too different to be compared with words like "better." I mean, I adore hope sandoval's voice. Sometimes I like it mor than I like Liz's voice, but that doesn't make it better....you know? Liz's guitar playing: In the 1994 November issue of option where there is the article with her and Lou Barlow, she talks about how it makes her upset that no one asks about how she writes songs or how she plays the guitar, it seems they're only interested in an upper middle class pretty white girl saying dirty words. Kudos to people who want to talk about how cool she writes. keely ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Jan 1999 14:49:09 EST From: AngelLieb@aol.com Subject: PLEASE SEND ME REVIEWS! So it's against all my fucking morals to pay to see Liz Phair with alan-ass, cuz I don't want to pay alan-ass' bills, but I MIGHT BE ABLE TO GO SEE HER AT AMHERST FOR FREE!!!! I just got an e-mail from the music section of my school paper about upcoming events, and one of the events is listed as: - - Liz Phair February 11th Mullins Center Amherst, MA Amherst is far from here, and I don't know how the fuck i'll get there and back, but FUCK IT! I'm not letting anyone else take this one! I will be there. Plus, it goes right along with the dream I had the other night, where I was at amherst seeing liz. I put that on my dream page on my website, if you're curious (http://www.angelfire.com/ca/DontWalk... find the dream page yourself. HAHAHA making you look at my site hahaha) Well, if I DO see Liz at amherst, believe me I will leave before alan-ass plays. I have a fucking 9:30 class the next day anyway. And I hear it's a four hour train ride to amherst. Sigh. I'll work out the logistics later. Waiting for the music guy at the paper to write me back... AAAAAAUGH... peeing in my pants. Okay not really. Do you realize that if I get to go, this will be the fourth time I've seen liz in my life, and the fourth time in... what? four months? Not to make anyone jealous, but this is the year of liz in the Boston/Massachussetts area. Please, pardon my excitement. But hey, a whole post on the subject of liz! That *might* be a first for me? Later, Nicole ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Jan 1999 19:30:47 -0500 (EST) From: Nicole Weisberg Subject: Animation beastiality? It's always interesting to get the insight of a non-Liz fan about Liz, right? Maybe. As is the tradition between me and my roommate, we were talking about males during dinner, and I was telling her that the next time I liked a guy or whatever, I was going to sing two liz songs to him, "Fuck or Die" or "Flower." And I proceeded to try and sing "F or Die" to her, and then I knew i'd have to sing the entirety of "Flower" for her, so she was just like "I'll listen to it when we get back to the room." On the way back to the dorm, she was like "Isn't 'Flower' the name of Thumper's girlfriend in 'Bambi'?" [no, in fact it's the name of the skunk, but whatever]. Anyway, it's just funny the things people will think of. I never thought "Flower-Bambi." Like.. .maybe... "flower-rose" or "flower-bouquet", but who's playing word association. I wonder what that means about my roommate, anyway, that she thinks "flower-skunk". Hmm. Okay. Tis my 2nd post of the day, yes it is. Update: the dude hasn't e-mailed me back about the amherst show. But! Poor ruthie! She's in london, and liz (well, with alan-ass) will be in amherst! Ruthie, y ou're all about near misses, aren't you? later, Nicole ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V2 #24 ***********************************
