Well, I'm not sure what the campground situation is like in Chicago, but there is a REALLY cool place in Wisconsin that is about 1 1/2 hours from Milwaukee that would be perfect! It's called Wisconsin Dells and it has literally TONS of campgrounds and motels that are really reasonable. It would be perfect for Liz Fest. Plus there are 3 water parks and tons of attractions. One of the water parks is the largest water park in the country, and it is so AWESOME! But Wisconsin Dells is about 3 hours from Chicago, and I could find a cheap campground if we wanted to hold it there. But it's just a suggestion. Please give me some feedback on this. We don't have to have Liz Fest here, but it really would be a perfect place to have it. The only hard thing would be transportation from Milwaukee airport to Wisconsin Dells, but I know something could be arranged. Oh well, let me know. I have only heard one Jen Trynin song, but Robbie, after reading your quote from her about Store 24, she's cool automatically. For those that don't live or attend school in or around Boston, Store 24s are like... convenience stores. Anyway, it's just funny that they're in a song. The thing about some store 24s is that, like most everything in the Boston area, they aren't open 24 hours. Oh well. Anyway... uhhhh... Well can't remember anything else I might want to write right now, so maybe later. As usual. Wait... I have no liz content... OH! I finally got my pics from 11/30 Boston. I will be posting them on my site soon. - -Nicole "like relieving a headache" W. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Jan 1999 13:58:42 -0500 From: "Bryan Moore" Subject: places to request liz+w54th+superstarLiz O.k., I was pokin around on the MTV site and the Muchmusic (Canada's superior music station), and I found their respective request lines --- so here they are: musictalk@mtvmail.com , and ondemand@muchmusic.com . Oh, heres the local toronto rock station to music@q107.com . So it would be really cool if all 700 + people on this list took a minute to send an email to these 3 addresses requesting that her Phairness be played and played often. On Liz the superstar::---------------->>> Part of me wants Liz to become a superstar, but part of me also likes things the way they are. I am experienced w/this sort of thing because I have been a fan of Sarah McLachlan since Solace came out and she was completely unknown south of the border. She used to come to Toronto all the time and play really (really)small places and while she was not a superstar and household name, she had a core base of fans that loved her. When Fumbling Towards Ecstasy came out, there was this energy surrounding the album and all of her 'hardcore' fans knew that things were going to change (and fast). The result is, well the Lilith Fair and Sarah being a superstar. I was checkin out the interviews w/Liz on the sessions at 54th(or whatever it'z called) website and she was talkin' about Lilith and how it has effected her. She describes how watching the perfected performances of the other artists gives her something to 'shoot for' in her career. She also talks about 'what it takes to be them'. Them being the other lilith-chicks (mostly-probably Sarah). I think Liz is realizing --hey, I can do this. Liz has lived w/more critical acclaim then almost anybody, and I think that she now wants the fame, fortune and recognition from the public. Well to conclude, some of us die-hard Sarah fans feel we have lost her forever. Sarah is now a top-seller and a top-draw, w/the most successful tour 2 years in a row. What we lose is being able so shout "sarah, I luv you", in a theatre full of 500 people and have her look right at me, and smile and say "oh, thats so sweet, thank you". What have we gained?? Oh, speaking of the sessions at west 54th, if you go to the website, you can view a couple performance clips and 2 interview clips. When they are downloaded, they go to a temp folder, and you can only view it once. To save the clips (or anyother similar ones), go to windows explorer, then go to the 'windows\temporary internet files' folder, the files will be .rm for real player. I think they are art1int1.rm (or somthing like that). Anyways, copy these files to 'my documents' or any other folder you want and you can view the interview clips anytime you want. Well, yet again, I was gonna just post my request thing, and I go on forever, oh well. Probably cuz I view that this world could go on without having to categorize EVERYTHING. Ohki people, it's music. You either like it or not, don't categorize it or give it a title. But that's not enough. I thought it was a great idea. That way we could get to know eachother a little bit better. Plus it will be really handy for Liz Fest. That way we will all know at least SOMETHING about eachother Please, everyone on the list email me and answer a few simple questions, and I will put it up on my page. The questions: Screen Name (Like a nickname or something, i.e. "The KingAdRock"): Real Name: Age: Favorite Music Artists: How you got into Liz: Thats it. Please email me with the answers, and I will put it up on my site as kind of a reference guide. A humble request I think.
