It has this article called "high-pressure high" and it's about this high school in Winnetka, Illinois called New Trier. It's talking about alums, and. . . Liz graduated there!!! I was so surprised that Liz graduated from this insanely pressured high school and went on to write such songs as Fuck and Run, Flower, etc. You'd think she might have been brainwashed there, ya know? I just realized that i know nothing of Liz's background? Did she ever go to college (or did she stop going)? Just wondering. Everyone else probably knows this stuff, but i thought it was interesting! Let's see. . . oh! Questions. Where can i find 'The Last Rock Star Book- or Liz Phair a Rant' other than on the internet? Are there any normal bookstores that have it b/c i can't seem to find it. Also, someone mentioned TV appearances of Liz a bit ago! I would love to have some of those- if anyone can help, please email me! Just to add to the first cd discussion, among my first ones was Joey Lawrence's cd! Talk about odd. . . And to add to the Alanis discussion, i can't stand Alanis but at least Liz isn't opening for Mariah Carey (sorry to anyone who likes her- i CAN'T STAND HER AT ALL!!!! :() EWWW. Alot of people didn't like the background, so I made it an all black background. Once again, the address is: http://phairterritory.freeservers.com/ Also, Does anyone know the name of a video that was played on the 120 minutes episode that Liz was on a few months ago. The name of the band is the John Spencer Blues Explosion. I remember that Liz commented that she loved the video. I need to know the name of the song because I really liked it and I want to get the CD. Katie sent me the pictures of us at the Liz at avalon show, what amazing pictures! I managed to get in the group photo but lucky Katie has those fab pix of her hugging liz! Someone scanned them on to their website- they are from 11/30 not 12/1 btw. well, happy holidays to everyone. I will be spending my new years with phish and I am extremely excited about it. it was a challenge to get these tickets and I did it. so have a great new year everyone! Does anyone know if this is a good one? Does anyone know ANYTHING about this bootleg because I haven't seen much about it on anyone's web page. I'm reluctant to buy this because I don't know how good the quality is, and I don't like supporting the bootleggers either. Hmmm, let's see. Three liz songs I would chose for the jukebox: 1)supernova 2)divorce song 3)what makes you happy (just cause I love the opening guitar part) OK, now for my next liz phair question: What is "a galaxie 500 video"? (as in, "And I was pretending that I was in galaxie 500 video"). Stratford-on-guy is one of my favorite songs but I never know what this means! - -Stacey ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Dec 1998 18:17:33 PST From: "Sarah =^..^=" Subject: christmas phair errrr, sucks to post from hotmail. fulfilling my polling responsibility: first record: ummmm . . . the play-along-while-you-read record to my snow white book first tape: depeche mode--violator first cd: new order--republic first favorite album: the afghan whigs--gentleman i really didn't think anything phairish would happen over christmas. but, anyway. my step-brother got a buddha head candle from his friend as a gift. apparently, he didn't know who buddha was or why everyone else knew what it was. so, my little sister says, "duh, buddha--as in 'i kissed the buddha and made him cry.'" my mom was nodding trying to place those lyrics and i was just like, "neat." hope everyone had a nice holiday. oh yeah--liz should tour with matthew sweet. that would be sooo wonderful, i think. bye, sarah the kat ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Dec 1998 22:32:46 EST From: AngelLieb@aol.com Subject: Re: support-system-digest V1 #129 Nicole: << To everyone else: I'm not posting the pictures katie sent me on my website because I'm not photogenic and I look like more of a freak of nature than usual in it. >> Is that you on the right side of the picture of Liz by herself with some guy in the background? Johnny Feelgood Supernova Polyester Bride All three songs are easily recognized by all of my friends. hmmmm...anyways. YAY! Sessions at West 54th is on this Saturday! I looked in my local listings and it's on at 11pm on Saturday, January 2. I couldn't believe that I finally got to see Liz's name in the tv guide that I screamed. And of course, anytime I scream, my mom always think I had a freak attack or something, I dunno...I scream when I'm excited. Sooooo...I have my fingers crossed and hope that my boss will give me that night off. Please please please!
