There had better be some Liz solo dates in those cities since she's gonna be there ANYWAY. To think of Liz on the same stage as that ape-faced product makes me so pissed off. I'd go just to wear my liz shirt proudly. Maybe I'm selfish, but I don't like the idea of those fans having the privilege of listening to our Liz. Anyway I wanted to add that there is a download (screensaver i think) of lyle lovett for this week's Sessions, so the chances are good that they'll be some neat liz stuff to put on our computers as well. So I think that it's interesting that Liz is opening for Alannis. Luckily, I'm not in the neighborhood of any of the shows so I don't have to ask the question of if it's worth it to stand around a bunch of those fans so that I can see a half-hour of Liz with a crowd that could care less. The interesting thing to me is if the atmosphere of this list will change if a bunch of new fans are created by opening for her. It could be the flame wars to end all wars. If it wan't for people like Liz blazing the trail, you'd be saying Alannis who? This news makes me sick quite frankly. I'm sorry if there are any Alannis fans here, but I CAN'T STAND ALANNIS!!!!!!!!!!!! And it has nothing to do with that video on MTV where she's naked. I just personally can't stand her or her voice. Katie, May advice is to ignore whoever submitted such a nasty thing in your guestbook. Anyone who isn't willing to stand by their opinion with their name or email address isn't worth the time of day. 99 times out of 100, it's just some guy who thinks he's really clever, and has some need to be nasty... part of the reason why I'm starting to think the 'net is becoming a very undesirable place. Some say anonymity makes the 'net the most democratic place possible... but it also means that people can say whatever they please, regardless of whether or not there's any truth to it. There's just no accountability to anything anymore... and as we all know, the lack of accountability is incredibly destructive. There's also this whole "rebel" element to it - some people are under the impression that because they're "anonymous", they go out of their way to piss people off. I checked out your page, and I see nothing wrong with it at all. It's a very nice page, imho... ;-) , well, other than the fact that it's on Geocities... ;-p Unlike a lot of other sites (Liz, or no Liz), you seem to strive for some "original" content with a heck of a lot of writing about how you came to like Liz, what's great about her, etc.... but you know what you written... ;-) My biggest complaint about sites is usually that there's nothing there to differentiate it from any other fan site. It's really easy to set up a site that rips everything off of someone else's site (and some of these web"masters" don't even bother crediting the source sites!) - pics, discography, sound clips, etc... but it takes a really dedicated fan to sit there and develop new content.... which it looks like you've done. 2 weeks to get the discography? I defy whoever ridiculed you to find someone who picked up all of Liz's releases in less time. Oh, I'm sure there's a few, but they are by far in the minority of Liz-phandom. Finding a store with everything is tough enough in itself... spending $100 on CDs in a day on a single artist based on a single or a review is insane.... etc. The logistics is just phenomenal.... my 2 bits Patrick ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Dec 1998 22:57:04 EST From: AngelLieb@aol.com Subject: A very Spaceeggy post ();) Ohk ohk...one thing I learned this weekend. Alanis did tour by herself to support Jagged Little Pill. I've seen allusions to connections between Alanis and Lilith Fair, specifically an article (anti-Lilith Fair, I think), where someone involved in the tour mentioned that Sarah McLachlan can't keep leading the tour forever, and they hoped someone like Alanis or Ani DiFranco would pick up the torch. I thought that was odd, because neither of them have played Lilith Fair, and they have never expressed a desire to be part of it. (I think Ani took a stand against it, calling it "ghettoization.")
