If you're not, than why the lame, unwarranted attack on me (which just screams MEfest, by the way)? Folks, I think this list is about to go moderated, which is going to be a huge hassle for me, truth be told. I try to do something nice by providing a forum for my fellow Liz fans, and this is the kind of crap I end up having to deal with? I'm really not sure if I need this kind of a headache. The holidays are coming up, I've got a lot of other things to contend with, and crap like this is the last thing I want to deal with. I hope you're having fun in Florida Jenny! Get a nice tan before heading back to Nashville to make your friends jealous! *jealousy jealousy!* The more I think of it, I really don't want another single to come out. I'm having too much fun listening to all of my Liz stuff and rave about her. To me, it's better to check out someone's music from a friend's collection or from word of mouth. Believe me, I think I have a friend who is on her way to becoming a Liz phan. I got her to watch the Rosie O'Donnell appearance she did and she thought she was really cool. That was the first time she ever saw Liz on tv. So, I'd just rather have Liz in my heart rocking away my own little jukebox I have in there, even though a lot of her songs from WCSE are possible radio hits like Jase mentioned. Sigh..... If I had my own radio station, I'd only be playing Liz, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan and everyone else I listen to 24 hours a day! Anyone else care to be my sidekick? <> Very interesting! Cuz I was about to make a list of tv appearances that would be cool for Liz. I'll include that to the list: VH1 Behind the Music - yo yo! I'd like to have one! I've seen Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac and believe me! You can learn a lot in mere 45 minutes if you edit the commercials out! Revue - Um, Liz was the first one I thought of when I heard about this show. I don't think she would be able to sit on that stool for who knows how long. hmmm. VH1 Divas Live - I'm sorry, she's a diva in my heart! I can't stand this show being played 24 hours a day! ARRRRRRGH! Me am going to get a pair of scissors to cut Mariah's hair! Thank goodness Liz has a great hairstyle! FANatic - We talked about doing this earlier. Anyone still interested? I think I changed my mind cuz I know I'd get nervous for the fact I'd be meeting Liz on national tv. I'd much rather run into her and knock her down to the ground backstage and feel like an idiot that I did. I think she'd be cool with that though. I've had too many dreams where I met people like that. What else is there? *thinking* <> BRAVO! Very well said! I can't believe that jerk was making money off of us! %$@^%@# Anyways....... Ohki, I guess Jenny has been keeping up with the digest by checking out the archives. I'll post the address again for everyone who might like to have it. This is where I go so I don't have to download the lists cuz I hate doing that. http://smoe.org/lists/support-system An address I've memorized by heart! ();) Well, me am off to head to work. I know I'll probably post something after the big stuffed up dinner of Thanksgiving. I hope everyone has a good day. Sigh, I can't watch the Macy's X-Mas parade. I'd love to pop all of those balloons and run through the streets screaming Liz's songs and all. Yelling: LIZ ROCKS! LIZ ROCKS! Yikes! I think I got a little bit carried away there! Anyways, I'm always having a mess of fun right?! Digest #94, *tick tock tick tock* Number 100 is coming up! YES! Katie ():D Spaceegg Girl P.S. nope...I'll post it after work! "those skirts!" I thought to myself), SO...... i decided to read this digest and reply to WAY too many people with all of this spare time before everyone comes over and starts chowing on Mom and Dad's delicious feast, so here it goes......it's a biggie .......... Brian Carmichael: > Is there a kind soul out there somewhere that will help out this slothful, yet > loyal individual? This is a great self-assessment...very very funny. Chuck: > Does anyone else think Liz would make an interesting guest on Politically > Incorrect with Bill Maher? How couldn't she? She's funny, intellegent, has had a killer experience as a "out of nowhere but now highly acclaimed" musician/entertainer, she's probably pretty knowledgable on a lot of subjects, she has an incredible hold of our language (at least in her music!)........ I think it's a damn good idea!!! i never see that show, but I'd like to see LIZ on it! Maybe with like Mike Myers, Picabo Street, and Hillary Clinton as the other guests! that'd be a mix. Mike Connolly: > JT, btw, got any relatives from Pittsburgh? That is such an uncommon > spelling of our name. No relatives from PA. Small family on the Connolly side...our spelling of the name rules. (what am I, in high school?!?!) Oh yeah, we were both wrong in our "next single" predictions...Jase seems pretty sure (Gerard Cosloy is a decent source, I guess) that it will be "johnny feelgood," which is cool. Too bad I had to go out and say, "there is no mystery to it," now that I'm totally wrong!! oh well. Any similar > experiences out there? Despite how awesome Liz is, the management of this tour has been a bit of a disgrace, as was the release of Juvenalia and WCSE. she seems to have no regard for published dates and relativley little explanation as to why these scheduling snafus take place. i think that announcing dates just to end up cancelling them two weeks later is sort of irresponsible (boy, I hate using that word...that's what i've been called my whole life!!). Don't get me wrong, she is still the best, and I don't dis-like her at all because of these things, I just think the way this tour has gone is shitty and it sucks. Maybe it's all the fault of the big-wig record execs? (or does MAtador even have such creatures?! it doesn't seem it!!) Steve: > >Last, the Fuck and Run CD boot (from 3/94) is amazing. "Explain it to Me" fuckin' rocks on this boot, with Casey > >adding great droney guitar effects. > > > >Steve I was physically unable to STOP listening to this disc when i got it back in the summer of 95...I totally agree with you, it is incredible. "explain it to me" IS awesome, but I love the way she slowed down and exagerated parts of "soap Star Joe," which rivals EITM as best track of the disc--both astonishing, however. Those two tracks, coupled with the great opening one-two punch of 6'1" and Stratford, great dialogue with the crowd throughout (she never *seemed* that nervous back then), a rousing rendition of Fuck and Run, the wonderful Divorce Song/Rolling Stones thing make "Fuck and Run" one of the best live discs of any artist: simply brilliant. (i used to work as a lifeguard, and they told us we couldn't listen to walkmans, but I would be out at the pool listening to "fuck and run" non stop for like the whole summer! It was an old geezer's retirement community, and they all were real sticklers for all of their self-derived, inane rules, so they'd give me dirty looks and be pissed at me while I listened to this disc as much as humanly possible. i never spoke about the disc on SupSys because I thought it was a conversation that had already been had before I was on this list.) B.H.: >I find it very hard to believe that > no one else on this list was disappointed with the WCSE tour or found it > hackneyed at the least... I'm still going to buy her records, because they > seem genuine & worthwhile, but the live show was just not all > that...sorry... > > BH WOW! blasphemy!! Roseland was indredible, in my eyes. Can't wait to see her again tuesday in Boston! i think she does a great job performing live. AngelLieb/katie: > Would Fran please email me? He also rated them again along the popular scholastic/academic scale we've all come to know and love (A-, etc.) Jase, you'd make a damn good P.I. wit dose skillz you got. I think we could/should sell this as a possible pilot for TV...our hero, JASE, goes around sniffing out Liz Phair crimes and thwarting the responsible parties...in the meantime, he monitors a web-site for Liz phreaks, gets info on upcoming dates and releases, and actually meets our heroine in TV studio sets and so on. maybe we can outfit you like the beastie boys were for the Sabotage video...and the show can take on that type of feel. I think Matador should foot the bill for us to make the first episode, which we can then sell to the execs like Jerry and George had to. Of course, I'd like to direct, but all of the more creative types out there, we can use your help, too!! What would be a good title for this program? Kevin Hutchison: > OK, I don't really hate Columbus. Just the Buckeyes. Why do they choke EVERY freakin year?? I was going to go to that LIZ show, too, glad I was tardy in buying tix, though.... Some of the consequences of a big hit single in (possibly? definitely?) "What Makes You Happy" hit me today. I just hope everything works out for the best: for Liz's sake, and for ours (ie. anyone who considers themselves a "diehard"). Hey, did "Polyester Bride" get ANY teleplay during that "Spankin New Video" week on MTV? Perhaps they played it at 3:42 in the morning?
