I know I've been posting entirely too much lately, but I just have a couple of requests. Once again, please DO NOT quote the entire previous digest when writing to the list (especially if it is a message that has absolutely nothing to do with anything that has previously been posted. Instead of hitting 'reply,' consider composing a brand new message). I'm sorry to be continually harping on this, but it's standard list etiquette. Thank God these messages always bounce to me due to their length so I can delete the unnecessary quoting -- I think most of the digest subscribers would be annoyed if they had to continually wade through past digests to find the new stuff. Also, when sending messages to the list, you only need to post to , which will send your message to both the real-time and digest versions of the list. There is no need to also send your post to ; if you do this, your message will appear not once, but twice in the digest. Okay, enough out of me. I got a below average bowling score, and I'm down in the dumps. As Jase already stated, there is already an IRC channel for Liz chat: #wcse. It's been there for months now, since the day that Matador netcast _wcse_ before its release, I believe in July. No need to start another channel and cause fragmentation. Speaking of fragmentation, I would like to take this opportunity to strongly discourage anyone (who hasn't already) from subscribing to the "real-time" (non-digest) form of the list. The guyville list is like that, and it sucks. It has always sucked. When Jason started this list manually long, long ago, it was in digest form. It always ruled. Please, please, if you're subscribed to the digest format, don't change to the other format. Please. You'll live to regret it anyway. And we don't want to become guyville... *shudder* If you feel you must, I say "Enjoy it while you can!" because eventually Jase is gonna start running the list manually again, in digest format (hope that wasn't supposed to be a secret -- if so, I'm terribly sorry). Anyone looking for Liz tabs should NOT check the internet for them, as the 'net tabs are horrible, with the exception of a handful of songs. Buy the god-awful Hal Leonard Whip-Smart tab book (it's awful because of its incorrect lyrics), I hear the guitar tabs are fairly accurate. Or better yet, get a live video boot for yourself if you REALLY wanna find out where to put your fingers. There's no better way than that. This talk of cancelled dates! is making me ill. If all these freaking shows are cancelled again, why the fuck were they ever scheduled in the first place?! In response to Dark Side (is it?), yes, Liz's music takes on a whole new mind-blowing life when you do drugs before listening. The only illegal drug I use is pot, and let me tell you... a few weeks ago, I got really stoned and listened to Exile. I was so overwhelmed by the brilliance of it, I almost threw up. I'm not kidding. It was amazing. If you don't believe me, try it, if you can. Once again, I just wanted to point out that there is NO need for anyone to purchase CDs of this Chicago show, as it will be made available as part of the upcoming tree on this list. This way you'll be able to hear this music without having to purchase one of these CDs for $25, while supporting a guy who is not only ripping off Liz but her fans as well. As for the other shows this guy is selling, New Haven, CT is really the San Francisco show at the Warfield from March 18, 1994 -- he's obviously making copies of the 'Fuck and Run' bootleg which has an incorrect listing for its date, venue, and location. The December 1, 1993 portion of the 'Clean as a Whistle' boot is also available on the 'Pottymouth Girl' bootleg. The remaining tracks on 'Whistle' are, once again, really from March 18, 1994, not '93. Rather than see people BUY these CDs off of this guy, I'd be more than happy to dub cassette copies of the 'Pottymouth Girl' or 'Fuck and Run' boots for anyone who is interested. If you're after CD copies, try asking on the list - -- I'm sure someone would be willing to burn CDs of them for you and not rip you off by charging $25 for the 'favor.' I don't mind seeing tape trading or trees occur on the list, but when I see someone grossly trying to make a profit off of Liz's work and ripping off her fans at the same time, it pisses me off and I will not condone the selling of bootlegs on this list. It's supposed to be about sharing the music with one another, not grossly profiting from it. Jase P.S. Nice subject heading, by the way.
