Could who ever provided the phone number for the NY store please post what the price is? I wouldn't mind giving this store a call (crank up the long distance phone calls Katie!) to order my copy. Also, do they deliver the order if we don't live in NY? Speaking about the single, I'm getting sick of calling my radio station, requesting that they play this song. So let's go to plan B: call them and ask if they have the single. If so, I'm gonna try to convince them that I'd take better care of it, so it wouldn't get such abuses sitting on their shelves and collect dust. grrrrr! Posters? What kind of posters are you asking? Just curious for the one who posted something about this. Also, I had an arrangement with someone to get Girlysound tapes and other Liz rarities, but I haven't heard from this person for a while and I already sent her the tapes she wanted. For some reason, I feel kinda cheated in some way. sigh.... Is there anyone else who has the WCSE import? I just wanted to say that I'm loving reading everyone's Liz experiences. It's so cool to know she's touring right now. All of us fans have waited so long for all of this and it's finally happening. I'm hoping that something will spark Liz to extend her tour, especially for some of you who have yet to see her. She's truly amazing. I finally developed the pictures I took at the Warfield during Liz's performance there. Some of them turned out kinda hazy, but after I scan them (which should be tomorrow) I'll try to clean them and post them on my site for all to see. Speaking of my site, I've re-vamped it yet again. Some of you may have already seen it, but there's no hurt in announcing it to the list. I've also added a soundclip of "Erecting A Movie Star". Be sure to check that out for all those who have yet to hear this awesome song. Oh, and about the "Polyester Bride" 7"... it can be order at Southland CD. The address: www.slcd.com. Enjoy! Some people are mentioning Morcheeba and I'll have to concur with the lot of you... they rock. I too, saw them when they opened for Fiona Apple in Washington, D.C. I think it was the first time I liked the opening band more than the headliner (Fiona sucks... just my opinion). On the subject of concerts, what concerts have the people on this list been to? However, I was just checking out the Ticketmaster website and it says that Liz's show at the Mekka in Columbus has been postponed on a date TBA. I don't know if this is true and I'm wondering if anybody on this list may have any info on this. I'm actually happy that the show was postponed cause I'll more than likely be able to see her once she announces a new date. Maybe she's going to be announcing another leg of her tour? I was first introduced to Liz's music about 4 years ago when I saw the Supernova video on MTV. I still LOVE that video. It's so wierd and freaked out! I loved the song, but kind of forgot about Liz for a while. Then this past August, I saw that Liz was going to be on Letterman, so I decided to check it out. The minute I saw her walk out playing those opening chords from Polyester bride I instantly became addicted to her and her music. And when I say addicted to her, I mean in a good way. I really admire her as a songwriter and especially as a guitar player. Being a guitar player myself, I love watching her play guitar. She's so gracefull, and is so GOOD at it. She's the best female guitar player out there in my opinion. She has a style all to her own, and makes playing the guitar seem so damn easy! Anyways, I bought all the albums, as well as the Fuck and Run bootleg, and I just can't stop listening to Liz. Not that I'm trying to stop. I just love her music. It seems so real and much more deep than alot of the music out there these days. Plus, I love her voice. It's so real and pleasent to listen to. Personally I can't stand the vocal gymnastics of people like Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. Liz and Sheryl Crow are the only female musicians I really listen to. Anyways, I can't wait to see her live. I haven't seen her live yet, but hopefully she will come to Milwaukee again. On a recent interview she said that she will be touring through the spring at the least. So I should have a good chance at seeing her. One more thing. Since everyone seems to be saing their favorite bands, I thought I would too. Here are some of my all time favorites besides Liz: The Doors, Stone Temple Pilots, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Alice In Chains, Beastie Boys, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Megadeth, John Mellencamp, Kiss, Rush, Rolling Stones, Beatles, CCR, Rage Against The Machine. So as you can see, its quite diverse. I also love any retro 80's music, like the stuff on both Wedding Singer soundtracks. Don't ask me why, but I love that stuff. Enough rambling. I just wanted to let everyone in on my Liz and musical background. Of course "Jealousy" has that Led Zeppelin sample from the end of "When the Levee Breaks," but what drove me crazy for a while was the Iggy Pop thing. I was watching something on David Bowie on VH1 and they were showing footage of him touring with Iggy Pop talking about how much he liked your pants. By the same token, I do honestly believe that there are some musicians the average person just doesn't "get". This isn't necessarily a bad thing; it kept Roxy Music from ever being a really big hit, thank God. But I just can't explain how else Liz hasn't broken it big yet, particularly after "Whip-Smart." The only thing I can say is that she's just a little too smart, cryptic, raw, dirty, in-your-face, honest--pick whatever combination of good and bad words you like--for a lot of people to really get a handle on. "Quirky" here wasn't intended to be either a compliment or insult--it's just a description. However, I do confess to confusing the issue with my joke at the end, and for that I apologize. I asked if they had anything of Liz in their studio and at first said he didn't know, but then asked if there was any song in particular I wanted to hear, and I said anything you have. The first song he mentioned was Supernova and then Polyester Bride. Of course I asked if Polyester Bride was a single and he couldn't give me an answer. Next question I asked was why they don't play Liz, his response: Liz's a great artist, don't get me wrong, but she's not the kind you would play on the radio. Excuse me? Not the kind you would play on the radio? I was lucky enough to stay calm while they said their usual saying of "I'll try to get that on for ya!" arrrrrgh! I wanted to jump through the phone and choke him! I think I made him quite uneasy when I asked if I could have whatever they had of Liz, since they never play her. He didn't give me an answer to that of course. Better luck next time!
