I also loved the Liz video :) and Lucas, did yo unotice that the live stuff from the Phairities tape are from that show (I think) because you can hear that one guy yelling "Fuck and Run Liz!" on the video as well..hmm just a thought. Anyways, the video totally rules, funny that we both got it at the same time! :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jenny I wanna be cool, tall, vulnerable, and luscious http://www.saylerfamily.com/jas/lizphair.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Sep 1998 22:43:26 -0400 From: "Jennifer Sayler" Subject: tori Sorry, I knew I would get yelled at for that one, my stupid idea. Even though I know this is also a bad idea I will tell you why I dont like her, but please remember that this is TOTALLY a PERSONAL OPINION! I have heard Tori's music, and it wasn't offensive to me(but I didnt love it either), but the reason is that I have heard from many sources that she is kind of not the nicest person, and that is a huge turn-off for me. That is why I am soooo glad that when I met Liz she was so nice and she seemed to like talking to her fans! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jenny I wanna be cool, tall, vulnerable, and luscious http://www.saylerfamily.com/jas/lizphair.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: 27 Sep 98 23:41:01 EDT From: Sarah.David@washcoll.edu (Sarah David) Subject: opinions are like . . . - --- You wrote: this person should be banned from the list.. no real liz fan could honestly say eig isn't her greatest work.. The card idea rocks, I am sad that I didnt think of it myself, and I am all about it 2. Whipsmart is awesome. I agree that Exile is best, I think that goes without saying. It is the best thing ever recorded. However I really enjoy Whipsmart, more than WCSE. I see nothing wrong with it and I do not understand how any liz fan could not like it! Nashville, Shane, Crater Lake, Support System, and May Queen are some of my fav songs from that album. I think that the album is just different than exile or even wcse. So.....i love it, i have enough love for everything that liz does even if its not my fav (um...big tall man) 3. Although I dont get how people cannot love whipsmart, I respect their right not to dig it like me 4. Oh and on an unrelated note, a lovely Sarah McLachlan song was ruined for me when MTV announced that both Clinton and Monica Lewinski liked the song "Do What You Have To Do" Uh, that suks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jenny I wanna be cool, tall, vulnerable, and luscious http://www.saylerfamily.com/jas/lizphair.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Sep 1998 00:02:28 -0400 From: Dan Subject: Fav Bands, Morcheeba I know someone on here listed MORCHEEBA as a favorite band...kinda cool because I too LOVE this band!! I just caught them in concert at MAGESTIC THEATER in Michigan last night (Saturday) and they were amazing!! Very much worth seeing, even if you are not familiar with them. (they are trip-hopish, with guitars, a very VERY unique sound - scratch mixing, guitars and amazingly intoxicatingly beautifully smooth lyrics from the gorgeous young female vocalist, her name escapes me at the moment.)- they are touring North America right now, tickets are only 10 bucks, I highly recommend going to see them if they come to yer city - excellent show :) also, gotta list my favorite bands/singers: Liz Phair Juliana Hatfield David Bowie Toadies Sebadoh Sinead O'Connor PJ Harvey Madonna Radiohead Tricky Bjork Alice In Chains Hole Bangles (GOD BLESS THEM!) B52's MIssy Elliot Beastie Boys Prince and Liz Phair again, just because she's so fucking good :) and damn, countless others... I feel like sharing, too. While I do believe condeming Ani b/c she has armpit hair is lame--to say the least-- I am not a fan of hers either. I think she's too self-righteous and that alienates me from her. Tori Amos alienates me as well b/c she does not seem genuine. I keep seeing those names popping up on favorite lists, so I figured I would voice my objections (kind of). Also, to the people who like Sheryl Crow-- why? (Genuinely curious there). Alright, now for musical interests: Liz Phair (the queen) They Might Be Giants Beastie Boys (glad lotsa Liz fans dig 'em) Indigo Girls Moxy Fruvous Toad the Wet Sprocket :( Pixies Cowboy Junkies The Supremes The Tragically Hip Also--old Sarah McLachlan and Barenaked Ladies, Push Kings, Sloan, Aretha Franklin, James, Dar Williams, Ben Folds Five, Talking Heads, Violent Femmes, Dead Milkmen, Luna, Crowded House,Radiohead......blah blah blah Can't wait to see Liz in Chicago!! :)ElizaBeth "You know, I don't pick projects so that all the kids at the Starbucks think I'm a classic."- Vince Vaughn ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Sep 1998 00:19:16 EDT From: Whiipsmart@aol.com Subject: Re: fave bands Everyone else is it doing it.
