Yeah, it's going to be quite a tapdance to get it all tied up. Interestingly, Joss did tie up a few ends in the NYTimes interview on Sunday, though not so much from a mythos point of view as a "why I wrote this like that" angle. And what he said about "Normal Again" makes some of the episode retrospectively hilarious. - -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 May 2003 19:00:32 -0400 From: meredith Subject: Re: b/write your own ending Hi, >Interestingly, Joss did tie up a few ends in the NYTimes interview on >Sunday, though not so much from a mythos point of view as a "why I wrote >this like that" angle. It's fascinating, a must-read (as pretty much every interview with Joss is). http://www.nytimes.com/2003/05/16/readersopinions/16WHED.html?pagewanted=1&th =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 May 2003 17:43:26 -0700 From: "Berni Phillips" Subject: Re: b/write your own ending From: > From: meredith meth@smoe.org > >>if they can figure out how to do it, convince > >>or force her to do so, and have her be lucky enough to drive back to > >>Sunnyvale without crashing the car. > > > >You mean SunnyDale, right? :) > > D'oh! Well, at least they officially have the same zip code. Bzzzzzt! I'm sorry, that's the wrong answer. I work in Sunnyvale. It's in northern California. Sunnydale sits where Santa Barbara is, in southern California (or at least what I consider southern California). I could probably afford to buy a house in Sunnydale, what with the bad neighborhoods and high death rates. Sunnyvale is safer and a whole lot more expensive. (I know, all of California probably looks alike if you're not from here.) And I guess we now have our answer about whether Spike will be on _Angel_ next season. Though I do think that instead of "What are we going to do now?", the better closing line would have been, "Where do we go from here?" I need to ruminate on this one a bit ... but first, there's the season finale of _24_ to watch. =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 May 2003 23:16:54 -0500 (CDT) From: allenw Subject: Re: b/chosen On Tue, 20 May 2003, meredith wrote: > Hi, > > Spoiler space ... > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Well. > > Damn. > > Joss did it. > > And I guess we now have our answer about whether Spike will be on _Angel_ > next season. > I wouldn't count him out yet. That a vampire with a soul would die to prevent an apocalypse and would be reborn human? Heh heh heh. . __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. I was teary all through the episode, thinking how much I was going to miss this show. I found the ending satisfying though--and just the right balance of comedy and tragedy that Joss seems to get perfectly and other writers don't always quite get. We actually have it on good evidence that they have the same zip code. The postal services's zip code lookup page at http://56.0.134.24/cgi-bin/zip4/ctystzip2 says that 94086 is Sunnyvale. And the official Whois record for cassienewton.com states the following: Admin Name........... Cassie Newton Admin Address........ 13 Shadow Lane Admin Address........ Admin Address........ Sunnydale Admin Address........ 94086 Admin Address........ CA Admin Address........ UNITED STATES QED :-) (Actually, from here in Berkeley, no two places in California look quite alike. Heck, even Oakland isn't itself on alternate days.)
