Though I had a feeling that something was awry when what Lorne was singing bore no resemblance at all to the notation in the book that he was holding. My thought, though, when I saw Cordy with the knife was that it looked like having Joss add your name to the credits mid-season was like beaming down on Star Trek wearing a red shirt. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Mar 2003 21:31:00 -0800 From: Joseph Zitt Subject: Re: b/lies... - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donald G. Rather odd that Willow wouldn't tell > Buffy where she was going or why, and that Buffy didn't press her. Had Buffy met Fred, and would she recognize the name? I have a hunch that Willow heading off to LA would immediately strike Buffy as being somehow about Angel, and she might think herself better off not opening that up again unless really necessary. It's going to be interesting to see how they handwave away Faith's "Get Out of Jail Free" card. Dubious as it seemed when depicted, it sounds even more suspicious when explained. I thought the vampire Richard was a hoot. Interesting (as I think may have been mentioned here) how blurry the relationship between the vampire and the human that he had been is: while at the beginning of the series we were told that there was nothing left of the person, by now it's pretty clear that there is. At the very least, the vampire retains all of the person's memories. But, as in the case of Webster (?) from "Conversations with Dead People", it is at least able to mimic the personality. While reminds me to wonder about how much The First knows -- when it imitates people, it does so *perfectly*, down to dropping little Star Wars in-jokes in talking to Andrew and having all of Cassie's little quirks. And just how anomalous is it for a demon to have a soul? Some of the demons seem like little more than epidermically challenged people. Does Clem have a soul? Did Anya lose hers when she became a vengeance demon, then regain it when turned into a human? And what happened when she went demon again, then got fired? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Mar 2003 18:09:44 -0800 From: "Berni Phillips" Subject: Re: a/ Whatever this week's episode was called From: "Joseph Zitt" > From: "Todd Huff" > > > > ANGEL SPOILER > > > > > > spoil > > > > spoil > > > > spoil your boat > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Was there anybody who DIDN'T see the sting on > > tonight's Angel coming from a mile away? Though I had a feeling that > something was awry when what Lorne was singing bore no resemblance at all to > the notation in the book that he was holding. That really bothered me, seeing the music and hearing what was coming out of his mouth. The music looked like an exercise book, all those repeated sixteenth notes. Definitely not mystical. > My thought, though, when I saw Cordy with the knife was that it looked like > having Joss add your name to the credits mid-season was like beaming down on > Star Trek wearing a red shirt. I kept flashing back on the previous episode with Willow and Cordy clutching the knife under the bedcovers. How stupid is it to have a very pregnant woman attack a healthy man -- okay, demon -- with a knife? Unless she caught him totally by surprise, which I don't think she could have done, he would have overpowered her and the jig would be up. A gun would have been much more effective.
