Hi, Wow -- it's been over 48 hours since this week's episode aired, and there's been no posts at all! I just finished watching it, since we weren't home the past two nights. Spoiler space Yowza. So many things! - -- Dawn! ("You hurt my sister, and you're gonna wake up on fire.") - -- Nancy! (I hope she does end up calling Xander back. They had more chemistry than he ever had with Cordelia or Anya, IMHO.) - -- Spike!! Oh, my. Oh, **my**. The scene in the church ... oh, my. Once again, the episode started with a Slayer-in-training getting offed by some mysterious pursuers. I loved the _Run Lola Run_ homage in that scene! (One wonders if Buffy dreamed the one in Istanbul, too.) Funniest moment: "Is there anybody in this group who *hasn't* slept together?" I had heard that Willow was going to be in England longer than just these two episodes, so I was surprised to see her leaving this week. I wanted more shots of Giles on a horse, dammit! I was also hoping to meet the coven. Oh, well. Our UPN station was having Issues and the audio kept cutting out, and the video even cut out for almost a full minute when Spike was investigating the remains of the sidewalk. :P Hopefully the VCD we're downloading as I type won't have the same problems. The season continues to kick butt so far. Yay! Don't forget, _Angel_ premieres on Sunday (opposite _Alias_, argh). ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org NEXT UP: Rachael Sage, Sunday, 10/6 at 4 pm ============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Oct 2002 21:17:05 -0600 From: "Susan Kroupa" Subject: Re: b/from below it will devour... We were out of town and my kids taped it for me--but hit something on the VCR and got an hour of blue screen. (Actually three hours of blue screen--BUFFY, GILMORE GIRLS, and WEST WING.) Arrgh. Well, I'm confused. I could have sworn that when Spike headed out to find whoever it was, he had every intention of being changed back to Big Bad Spike, so he could come back and kill Buffy. You, know, get rid of the chip and all that. So what's all this stuff about wanting his soul back? A vampire with a soul was never "the way I was before." (And that's why some of us thought he'd be changed back into a regular human--William the Bloody, etc.) Is Joss changing the story in mid-stream, or is he being obtuse when he was trying to be coy? Anyway, the suffering on the cross had some interesting resonance with the atonement issues that afflict a vampire who regains his soul.... I think he didn't want to kill her, but rather to be transformed into someone she could love. > So what's all this stuff about wanting his soul back? Neither, I think. It seems consistent and we're gonna see continuing repercussions of this. - -- | josephzitt@josephzitt.com http://www.josephzitt.com/ | | http://www.metatronpress.com/jzitt/ http://www.mp3.com/josephzitt/ | | == New book: Surprise Me with Beauty: the Music of Human Systems == | | Comma / Gray Code Silence: the John Cage Discussion List | ------------------------------ End of stillpt-digest V4 #144 *****************************
