I vote nighttime security guard. Who better than the Slayer to keep watch over the edifice that happens to cap the Hellmouth? Plus, remember what Buffy's ideal career turned out to be (was that in "School Hard"?): Police Officer. ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Jun 2002 22:13:29 EDT From: GHighPine@aol.com Subject: Re: b/more spoilage In a message dated 6/24/02 6:47:33 PM Pacific Daylight Time, meth@smoe.org writes: << So if Buffy is indeed going to find her career calling at the newly restored Sunnydale High, who wants to place bets on exactly what the job is going to be? I would vote for some kind of counselor job, but I think that takes a college degree. Maybe her Doublemeat experience will qualify her for cafeteria work (and didn't the school lose a cook?) Or at least a daytime security job. When the kids are there. Gayle ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Jun 2002 19:28:59 -0700 From: "David S. But she's the Slayer ... doesn't she spend most of her nights out looking for vampires and demons to whack? Working security at the school would limit the amount of running around she'd have to do to find the bad things to slay. ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Jun 2002 19:41:22 -0700 (PDT) From: Todd Huff Subject: Re: b/more spoilage - --- meredith wrote: > Hi, > > David responded: > > >SPOILER SPACE > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >Couldn't be nighttime security, surely. If it is a night job at the school, though, security would pretty much have to be it. Teaching martial arts class would be most appropriate I think. No reason to let the lack of a teaching certificate get in the way. It sure didn't stop Willow from taking over Jenny Calendar's computer class. Come to think of it, though, the whole inspiration and premise for Buffy came directly from the upending of one of these laws: the blonde cheerleader in the horror flicks always had the red shirt (well, she had often doffed it in an earlier scene). Joss got the idea of her turning around and kicking vampire butt, and the rest is history. - -- | jzitt@metatronpress.com http://www.josephzitt.com/ | | http://www.metatronpress.com/jzitt/ http://www.mp3.com/josephzitt/ | | == New book: Surprise Me with Beauty: the Music of Human Systems == | | Comma / Gray Code Silence: the John Cage Discussion List | ------------------------------ End of stillpt-digest V4 #96 ****************************
