David commented: >And how unintentional is it? That's a very interesting question. I'd be >more relieved if it were intentional, because that'd mean they're >deploying it with some subtlety. I would be *very* surprised if it weren't intentional. Joss & co. just work that way. >Another good point. I've found the same thing when reading graphic novels >in successive comic-book sized installments. It works much better when >you can read the whole thing at once. ... which is why I'm collecting all of the issues of FRAY, so when I finally get #8 I can sit down and read the whole thing at once. My short-term memory is starting to fail me at a distressingly early age, so reading things in installments doesn't really work for me any more. >The question I wonder is - who would be willing and have the time to sit >down and watch a whole season of BTVS in a week, except for someone who's >already seen it? Don can confirm this, but I believe his daughter Dierdre caught up with the show a season at a time, over the course of a few days. So I guess the answer would be, At Least One. :) (When I first got into _Xena_, I watched the first two seasons over the course of one week. I realized I had to stop when someone cut me off in traffic on the way to work and I found myself reaching for a nonexistent chakram. :}) >Wasn't there a suspicion, among viewers at the beginning of Season 2, that >the Annoying One would indeed become a Big Bad? IIRC, the Annoying One (good one :) was originally supposed to be the Big Bad, but then Joss realized that just wasn't going to work because the actor was hitting puberty, which would make portraying an ageless kid rather difficult. So he knocked him off and turned to something else. ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ============================================== ------------------------------ End of stillpt-digest V4 #80 ****************************
