Well, last night we did a marathon: five episodes in a row. Yack. At least we're all caught up now!! (Only to fall behind again, because Rob isn't going to be home tomorrow night ... but one episode is easier to catch up on mid-week than five.) I'm glad we didn't have to wait 6 weeks between Connor disappearing into the Hell Dimension with Holtz while Wesley lies bleeding to death, and the next episode. Six minutes was almost too long! I'm also glad I'm not the only one here who is totally shocked and appalled by Cordy's latest hairstyle. Good lord. I kept waiting for someone to make a crack about it onscreen, but it never came ... Joe responded: >Not that I care much about hair... but changing to blonde on a whim >seems to be the kind of thing Cordelia would do, just because she can. This is an excellent point. Though I think it more likely that the real-world reason for Charisma Carpenter's absence from the show for those weeks and her change of hair color is that she was off doing a movie (the absence of any info on the IMDB to back up this supposition notwithstanding). >(Having Groo around is mostly good for her, >but IIRC (and I'm not certain) she changed her hair before he showed >up.) She cut it short before he came back, but the new style and color happened while they were on vacation. >Come to think of it, what with Lorne moving in and Groo and Connor >showing up, Angel Investigations may have to hire a Human Resources >department to keep track. Well, they *do* have a whole hotel to play with ("We have a pool?!" ). One wonders whether Lorne will follow through on his thought to turn the banquet facility into a nightclub. I could see that working very well. Berni commented re the Gunn-and-his-soul episode: >The morality/ethics of the conclusion was totally wrong, IMHO. Sure, it's >wrong to be in the business of sucking out people's souls, but Gunn had >given full consent. Gambling double or nothing -- well, even if I approved >of gambling, which I don't -- it was highly irresponsible of Angel to risk >becoming Angelus again. If he had lost his soul and Cordy had tried to >stake him and missed -- that's just too great a risk to take, even to save >Gunn's life. I agree 100%. It was all very frivolous all around, and I couldn't figure out just what that story was doing plopped smack in the middle of the whole Connor/Wesley/Angel-messing-with-Dark-Powers thing. If they wanted to solidify the Gunn/Fred relationship they could have done it with a more sensible subplot, imo. >And then, when he lost and then turned the crowd on the bad guy.... Again, a >big ethical no-no. And, as David pointed out, it was stupid. Isn't that >what the guy's bodyguards are for, to protect him against personal attack? I'm not convinced the guy is actually dead. I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up at some future *really* bad moment wanting to make good on his debts -- both of them. The whole "you mess with Dark Magic, there will be a price to pay" thing is very reminiscent of what Giles was telling Willow about her resurrection spell. I wonder if we're going to see more of this theme in the next three episodes of _Buffy_ as well. ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html =======Next Up: Jessica Weiser 5/12/02======== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 May 2002 10:56:30 -0700 From: "David S.
