I thought it was very intense, very tightly constructed (outside of the slightly overlong sequence of Anya trying to solicit a wish), all the characters and their reactions rang heartbreakingly true, and,as a followup to "Hells Bells," it ratcheted up the heartbreak and the emotional truthtelling several notches more. If this is what we are getting four eps from the season finale, I expect mega-intense emotional climax at the finale. Also thought the proclamation "Everything you have heard is wrong" during the next week's preview was intriguing -- it suggests that false spoilers have been purposely planted. (A good strategy if real spoilers are floating around -- put out enough plausible false ones and it would be hard to spot the real ones.) It was vintage Anya. I was wondering why she didn't just ask Halfrek to do the vengeance thing on Xander, though?? >all the characters and their reactions rang heartbreakingly >true, and,as a followup to "Hells Bells," it ratcheted up the heartbreak and >the emotional truthtelling several notches more. Oh, yes. Xander and Buffy have to have a Serious Conversation. (Willow figured it out when Dawn did, right?) And the final scene, with Willow and Tara turned me into a puddle of goo. "Can we just skip that part?" > Also thought the proclamation "Everything you have heard is wrong" during >the next week's preview was intriguing -- it suggests that false spoilers >have been purposely planted. (A good strategy if real spoilers are floating >around -- put out enough plausible false ones and it would be hard to spot >the real ones.) I think that also applies to the previews. I don't know anyone who didn't think from the previews that the video on Willow's laptop screen was Spike and Buffy. I have a moral dilemma. I've got next week's episode sitting on my hard drive right now ... to watch or not to watch?? If I do, I'll just have to wait that much longer for the *next* new episode ... but I gotta know what happens! (Don't worry, if I crack under the pressure I won't post anything here until after Tuesday.) ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html =====Next Up: Molly Zenobia 5/5/02===== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 May 2002 22:19:16 -0500 From: Joseph Zitt Subject: Re: b/ 5/30 ep (and a/ Cordemonia) On Wed, May 01, 2002 at 10:15:39PM -0400, meredith wrote: > I was wondering why she didn't just ask Halfrek to do the vengeance thing > on Xander, though?? So was I. But maybe vengeance demons can't act on wishes from other demons. > Oh, yes. Xander and Buffy have to have a Serious Conversation. (Willow > figured it out when Dawn did, right?) I have a hunch that dark stuff is in store for Xander, though I have no idea what. > And the final scene, with Willow and Tara turned me into a puddle of > goo. "Can we just skip that part?" The one I'm most wondering about is the bit in the previews (I think) where Dawn is glowing. I have a hunch that we're not yet completely played out with the bit about Dawn being not exactly human (though I've pretty assiduously avoided spoilers, so I don't know). She still strikes me as the biggest anomaly in the Buffyverse. (Speaking of glowing, I wonder if we're going to find more repercussions of Cordelia getting slightly demonized on Angel -- her destruction of the slugs seemed a bit Demon ex Machina this week.) - -- | jzitt@metatronpress.com http://www.josephzitt.com/ | | http://www.metatronpress.com/jzitt/ http://www.mp3.com/josephzitt/ | | == New book: Surprise Me with Beauty: the Music of Human Systems == | | Comma / Gray Code Silence: the John Cage Discussion List | ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 May 2002 22:42:06 EDT From: GHighPine@aol.com Subject: Re: b/ 5/30 ep In a message dated 5/1/02 7:17:56 PM Pacific Daylight Time, meth@smoe.org writes: << I have a moral dilemma.
