He was indeed, and we can only speculate how well he and Buffy would
have jelled had she "caught him in time."  The one thing undercutting my
own optimism on that score is that it did bother him that she was so
much more powerful than he, without those technotoys that the present,
insecure Buffy couldn't help making fun of when he returned. :)  It
still seems passing strange that he forgot to warn Buffy not to kill the
demon, however.
 
<Of course Spike will be there.  Spike's theme song (apologies to
Rodgers &
<Hammerstein) is "I'm just a vamp who can't hear 'No'".  You think the
<Scoobies could keep him away?  You think they won't try anyway?

Why try, when vengeance demons are invited? <g>  Actually, the preview
suggests he's going to be bringing a date; wonder if it will make Buffy
jealous.  Of course, if it's Anya's old buddy, she of the past history
with William....

Riley has gone to a world where technotoys, which he's so good at, rule.
No wonder he feels better out of her shadow, better enough that he can now
make a visit back under it voluntarily.

And he forgot to mention that he was married, too.  He sounded so
confident, but he did a terrible job of explaining what was going on.  I
think the intended response is to sigh heavily and say, "Men!"  (with their

He might try.  But if we know Buffy, she'll just scoff at the attempt.

Ooh.  Or he could meet her there, and make his date jealous.  (Oh, Harmony,
