Bratman" Subject: b/A psychological analysis of Cordelia There's a fine article on "relational aggression" among middle-school and high-school girls in the New York Times Magazine this week. It's about real people, but I kept thinking of the fictional ones I know better. It's a good discussion of the relational dynamics, not only of the way Cordelia was in high school, but of the films "Heathers" (which is actually mentioned) and "Clueless". One's conclusion: they're all true. The article focuses on a consultant who runs classes at various schools. She's 32, still talks like a teenager, and keeps herself au courant on her subject by watching Kirsten Dunst and Freddie Prinze Jr movies, as well as "innumerable shows on the WB network." I'll just bet she does.
