In defense of Buffy, remember that Dawn is now the same age that Buffy was when she was called to be the Slayer. Now that Glory is no longer after her, Dawn is almost as safe as any other teenage girl. (Being the Slayer's sister does put her at more risk than other teens, I would guess.) Sometimes teenage girls just need to charge off when they're upset and not be chased after by their parent or parent-figure. Emotions run so high at that age. Maybe Buffy was just giving Dawn some space at a time when Dawn wasn't ready to listen to her. Another thing that sticks out is how the three nerds only refer to Buffy as "the Slayer." That is so impersonal. Jonathan knows her. He went to high school with her and has had several real conversations with her. How can he not refer to her by name? I think he's going to be seen more and more as just playing along with Warren and Andrew and will try to come back into the fold. (Here's a funny thought: Jonathan trying to join the Scooby Gang as a particuarly inept one!) Berni ------------------------------ End of stillpt-digest V4 #14 ****************************
