Enough already: they've hammered >this one into the ground. I like where I think they're heading with this, but I think they're dragging it out a bit. Unless...and this is speculation...it turns into a retread of the Angelus storyline, where Buffy gets involved with Spike, and then Spike gets the chip out and turns on her. But I trust Joss won't do anything as mundane as that. Hilary - -- Hilary Hertzoff hhertzof@panix.com Mamaroneck, NY hilaryh@dm.net Miss Bettany had told them to read the classics and see how little slang was used there, and to try to model their own speech rather more on them than on that of cheap magazines filled with Americanese and language which might be suitable for boys, but was not allowable for girls. - Jo of the Chalet School ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2001 23:34:32 -0500 From: meredith Subject: Re: 11/13 Hi, Just watched my tape (why, oh why does Xena Night have to be on Tuesdays?!). Will this one be remembered in future BTVS trivia contests as the >one in which Xander is called "Alex"? I agree with Hilary that it'll probably be better known as the Randy and Joan episode. Gods, how hilarious was all that?? It was interesting to see what aspects of everyone's personality remained, and showed when it was time to let instinct take over. Joan the Vampire Slayer ... Randy the Vampire ... Anya the protector of the cash register, who felt a need for vengeance and was STILL scared to death of bunnies... and of course Willow and Tara. That was so sweet between them, then so heartbreaking, when the spell got broken just as they were about to kiss. >Willow deserves everything she's got. And don't think she doesn't know >it. (Though it looks from the previews as if she's not about to mend her >ways. With the continuing absence of the Terrible Three, it looks more >than ever likely that Willow really is the big bad.) Agreed. I think that she may know exactly what she's caused, but be in a state of denial where she has convinced herself that only more magic will make things better. Tara's leaving will only exacerbate that, I fear. I hope Tara's not gone for good. Dawn's reaction to her leaving was particularly poignant. Losing both Tara and Giles at the same time, two of her (many) parental figures is going to hit her hard. Hats off to Alyson Hannigan for yet another killer performance. The look on her face as she sat despondent in the bathroom as Tara packed was physically painful. >But splendid as this episode mostly was, the final shot this week made >even less sense than it did last week. The previews would indicate that next week might be the end of it ... we'll have to see. ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" -- mahatma gandhi ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2001 23:52:59 EST From: GHighPine@aol.com Subject: Re: 11/13 In a message dated 11/14/01 8:37:02 PM Pacific Standard Time, meth@smoe.org writes: << I hope Tara's not gone for good. "A vampire with a soul! How lame is that?" It was only today that it occurred to me that Spike--I mean "Randy"--was wearing a suit similar to his swing-set garb in Xander's "Restless" dream. It was also during that same sequence that Giles said something like "Spike's like a son to me." I also remember Xander saying something along the lines of "Always got to keep on moving," to which Buffy, seated in the sandbox, responded, "Like a shark." "Only with legs!" Spike added proudly. Seems to me the scriptwriters are still playing with situations and imagery inspired by "Restless." ------------------------------ End of stillpt-digest V3 #178 *****************************
